I sent a PM to the site admin. asking how he'd like to proceed. I will restore the link if that's what he wants. Otherwise let's let them grow on their own terms.



How does one go about starting their own message board?

"dj's World" maybe, what do you think?

This one was kinda interesting, they mentioned BP, and Mili.

Is it wrong to do a board take-over, on another OSU board? Looks like this one is a one man job. :tongue2:

Hell, they might not even need a takeover as they pay for their site based on views.

"The cost of the board is directly related to the number of views (not just posts, but views) it gets. For $7/6 mos. or $12/yr., he can postpad all he wants.

You guys can tell whomever you want but be sure to warn them of the quirks in starting up, and please don't post it directly on BN...at least not yet. I've got a few reasons for this: 1.) We still suck as a board and I still don't know what I'm doing, so there's the embarrassment factor; 2.) I don't want to appear like Buckeye Planet, crying & taking my ball and going home;"

Let's let them decide how to get their board rolling. It looks like they want an "Invitation Only" model for the time being. If they are OK with the link being broadcast at BP, then I will restore it to the first thread. Thanks.

After talking with the founder of the site, they are philisophically "open" to whoever would like to post. However, seeing how this thread was evolving, I'm inclined to give them a bit of time to get their feet planted. Let's let them get rolling by their original plan of membership thru invitation. I'm sure there will be members of both sites. When the topic comes up again on BP, we'll just let it follow it's own course. I believe they think that's the best way to approach the situation as well. Thanks.
