My fat-assed mother in law broke a wooden chair.
So.
Most of the time there is a wooden dowel insert? Replace it.
Sand down any roughness so you have a smooth consistent surface.
Drill out the old dowel and any rough wood.
Find a replacement dowel (not so big you don't have any surrounding wood left).
Check your dowel fit. Make it reasonably tight.
I used Gorilla glue to glue everything together.
(be careful using Gorilla glue as it expands a good bit)(too much and it will give you a nice mess!)
I used bungy cords to hold everything till it dried.( A wood vise or clamp could be even better if you can use one.)
Good luck as even the best of efforts may not render it whole again! :tongue2:
