since we have one tell me three things now that we are to the conference schedule and have seen all of our confrence's teams play

1) How will the Big Ten look when it is all said and done?

My prediction:

1) Ohio State
2) Purdue
3) Minnesota
4) Michigan
5) Wisconsin
6) Iowa
7) Penn State
8) Northwestern
9) Indiana
10) Michigan State
11) Illinois

2) Who will be Ohio State's offensive MVP? (Nuge is special teams)

My best guess is Santonio Holmes. Ross would have to explode to get it, Zwick has turned the ball over too much. It has to be Holmes.

3) Who will be Ohio State's Defensive MVP?

The easy answer would be Hawk, but I kind of think Nate Salley should get a mention. He is the leader of the secondary now, makes big plays, big hits, and if he could make some picks he would give Hawk some competition.

I'm not sure how the B10 shapes up yet. This is a good question, and I'll take a stab at it, but I honestly think this conference is completely up in the air. If tOSU keeps winning, which I believe they will, they could easily win this conference by 2-3 games. scUM looks bad, Penn State looks bad (I honestly thought they would be much improved this year), MSU looks bad, Illinois, Indiana, and Northwestern, well, 'nuff said. That leaves only Iowa, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Iowa got STOMPED, but maybe that was a fluke - but 44-7 or something like that, though, I don't think that's a fluke. Wisconsin has not impressed me, and neither Minnesota nor Purdue have played anybody. Minnesota, historically, will drop one or two they should win (think Northwestern or Michigan State) before losing a big game or two as well. Until they break that trend, I refuse to buy into their hype. This conference could come down to tOSU and Purdue, but Purdue returns only 2 defensive starters, and in the B10, you have to have a good defense. Their success will depend on how fast that young D matures, and how many mistakes they make. So, in summary:

1. The Ohio State University
2. Purdue
3. miSHITgan
4. Iowa
5. Minnesota
6. Wisconsin
7. Penn State
8. Northwestern
9. Michigan State
10. Indiana
11. Illinois

Offensive MVP will be Holmes. After his statistics against Marshall, I just can't pick against him. Well, I could, but there are too many question marks concerning every other offensive player on the team to pick anyone else. I will say this though - if another offensive player (besides Holmes, I mean) wins the offensive MVP, then we are definitely going to a BCS bowl.

Defensive MVP will be Hawk. I hate to pick the favorite here, but on this team, I firmly believe our most valuable players are our LB's, and Hawk is the best of the bunch.

1) Ohio State
2) Minnesota
3) M!chigan
4) Purdue
5) Wisconsin
6) Iowa
7) PSU
8) Northwestern
9) Indiana
10) Illinois
11) MSU

Offensive MVP: Bam Childress. I think he'll become more important as defenses key in on Holmes. And we have all seen what he can do once the rock is in his hands.

Defensive MVP: Simon Fraser. The senior captain so far is playing a stellar season. As defenses have to find ways to combat our linebackers, the anchor of the defensive line will be the catalyst in the trenches.

I'll say

1) The Ohio State University (OSU will beat Purdue 20-13)
2) Purdue
3) Wisconsin
4) Michigan
5) Minnesota
6) Iowa
7) Penn State
8) North Western
9) Illinois
10) Michigan State
11) Indiana

I'll say the offensive MVP ends up going to Santonio Holmes just because of he's basically our only weapon as of right now. Honorable Mention though I'd like to add Justin Zwick. Tressel Loves players that don't screw up too often and I think Tressel has gotten that point across to the young man after last weeks game.

On Defense I'm going to go with AJ Hawk as well. I think Bobby Carpenter is going to be right there at his heals though.

1. Ohio State
2. Purdue
3. Wisconisn
4. Michigan
5. Minnesota
6. Iowa
7. Penn State
8-11. Just start drinking now, season's over.

Offensive MVP:
Holmes is the only answer right now. Zwick has an outside shot.

Defensive MVP:
Outside of the obvious answer, Hawk. I'll have to go with Carpenter. He's been awesome so far this year. God, I can make an argument for 7 of the 11 starters for MVP. Our D is that good.

Defensive MVP won't be Salley, IMO he is in jeopardy of losing his job to Everitt. His play has been very weak this season, his blown coverage lead to a TD for NC State. That honor will go to Hawk, Carp, Pitcock or Whitner, to soon to know which one.

Since Everett already has the starting job at the other Safety, I don't think that he'll be playing both positions. I do agree with the rest of the post though. I have been unimpressed with Salley's, hit'em as hard as you can, and don't wrap up style. He's also been weak in pass protection. The Michigan game, despite his number of tackles, was a weak performance for Salley, IMO. His pursuit angles were wrong, most of that game, and contributed to at least one touchdown.

Its still real early in the season to tell where everyone stands in the big 10....of course OSU looks strong again, but the offense will have to make more plays down the road.

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan
3. Purdue
4. Minnesota
5. Wisconsin
6. Penn State
7. Iowa
8. Indiana
9. Michigan State
10. Northwestern
11. Illinois

Team MVP will be Mike Nugent
Offensive MVP will be Holmes
Defensive MVP will be Hawk

IronBuckI said it, Everitt is already at the other safety position. After Whitner's performance against NC State, I can see him moving up from the Nickel position to take Salley's starting job, and feel that Everitt and Whitner are our two best players at safety. Salley has shown some glimpses of excellence, but not many this year. Like others have said, he needs to learn to tackle, not just hit. Doss was never the best at pass coverage either, but he more than made up for it with his run-stopping prowess. Salley hasn't excelled against either the run or pass so far.

As far as the defensive MVP goes, I'll say this much: if a LB wins the MVP, it will definitely be Hawk. I don't want to take anything away from Carp, and D'Andrea has looked excellent as well, but Hawk will outshine both. He's just that good.

Minnesota will be in the conference race all year long.

They don't play Purdue or tOSU, so they could easily go 7-1.

Absolutely. There's a long list of teams in the B10 who have managed to sniff a conference title when they've gotten a pass on playing OSU over the past 20 years.

Minny will lose to scUM, and I predict they will also lose to a Penn State or Northwestern, or maybe Iowa. I keep telling you people, I will believe Minnesota is the real deal after they prove it. They've been hyped every year for the last 4 years, and have flopped every time. You watch...
