I don't give change to Michigan fans

BuckeyeParalgl

Walking down the winding road...
I live in the vicinity of High Street. After leaving a UDF, I was approached by a bum wearing a scUM sweatshirt. He asked me for some change to buy a sandwich.

My response was swift. I never give change to bums as a matter of principle. However, this one was clad in Maize and Blue, and the principle changes. He was no longer a bum, he was a scUM fan. I never give money to scUM fans as a matter principle either.

I told him: "I don't give change to Michigan fans."

He was not amused.

You are lucky he didn't stab you or throw a bottle of piss on you (happened to a friend of mine, was fucking hilarious). He should know his audience. Wearing a UM shirt on High St. is just stupid. I will give bums $$ sometimes but I would done the same thing in that instance.

I know I'm probably going to get a lot of negative rep for this reply, but I'm drunk so I don't care. Perhaps this homeless man doesn't have enough money to really be that picky about what kind of clothes he wears? I bet a lot of people threw away their shitty scUM sweatshirts, and that's why only homeless people wear them. Although, I still think he should have at least turned it inside out.

This guy had a scUM sweatshirt, not turned inside out. You'd think if he really wanted a Colt 45 he would have found a Buckeye sweatshirt somehow, to do this. A scUM sweatshirt on High Street, no matter what the situation, is unacceptable.

He's gotten lazy with his rapping as of late. I saw him get picked up by a Caddy once so i know he's better off than you would think

I want to give GD a little support. I used to feel very sorry for a man in tatty clothes who held up a sign, day after day, asking for work or a "donation" at an intersection near my office. So, I was rather pleased when an unskilled job, with a growth path to a skilled job, became available at the University. I went to recruit him.

I got there just as he was folding his sign for the day and watched in stunned silence as he disappeared into a culvert beside the intersection, only to emerge in nicer clothes than I could afford. When I approached him about the job, I found that he earned more on that street corner than I did! An investigative reporter later went undercover and found that the guys on street corners generally made a good living from it, far more than they could working.

McDonald's and Wendy's are always hiring.

yeah... but some beggers make more money in a day then working in McDonald's or Wendy's.

One homeless person use to rent a motel room everyday ($45/night). He would always say...I'll take the same room when I get back. I never bothered to see what he does or how he gets his money. Then I saw him near a traffic light with a sign "homeless...will work for food...god bless." This dude would come back in 4-5 hours with enough money to pay for his room, food, and liquor. He stayed for 15 days paying 45 everyday.

so, why would he work at McDonald's or Wendy's...when people give him so much money in few hours?

Thanks for the support Steve

Went to a Reds game some years ago, on the way to the stadium saw panhandler and gave him some change. We left the game early and went to eat. After we ate we were walking back to our car and the panhandler was getting into his brand new (at the time) BMW 3 series. Wanted to beat the shit out of him.
