How's your fantasy team doing?

What are your best and worst moves? What's your record and ranking?

My team started off the year 1-2-2. I thought that was impossible in fantasy football, but it happened. I was in next-to-last place. My TEs were going down like Spinal Tap drummers. I think I had to pick up a different four out of those first five weeks. I had to act desperately - I've made the most roster moves in the league by far.

Things have turned around though. I won my fourth straight this week, and as of last week's standings I was in second place even though I was the second lowest scoring team in the league. I picked up Drew Brees at the beginning of my run, and he's been in my lineup the last two weeks. I've also picked up throughout the season the likes of David Givens, Keary Colbert, and Marcus Pollard, and Nate Kaeding. In addition, my roster is being bolstered by the return of Tyrone Wheatley and the impending return of Todd Heap. The only moves I really regret not making are passing on Willis McGahee and Mewelde Moore. The McGahee non-move especially hurts b/c I had Travis Henry. It's clear he's lost his job, and I was forced to drop him today for Shayne Graham since both of my other kickers (Elam and Kaeding) have a bye next week.

I'm in three legues this year, all of them I am in the playoff hunt this year. Two of them I have not lost a game this year yet.

The one that I am most proud of is the one that I am in with Thump and buckeyegrad. My team is 8-0 and looks like I should be 9-0 after tonight. I have broken the league scoring record twice this season. I haven't made allot of moves this year as I had set Myself up the last few years with trying to make moves of picking guys up cheap that I thought would produce in a year or two and so far it has worked.

I'm in 2nd place behind buckeyfool but will probably lose again tonight.

My lack of consistency at the WR position has killed me. My starters are Joe Horn, Tory Holt, & Chad Johnson (My biggest bust this year.)

Also, at one point, all of my running backs were injured or on drug suspensions. I have Onterrio Smith, Jamal Lewis, Julius Jones, Deshaun Foster, Mewelde Moore, Reuben Droughns, and Domanick Davis.

I traded Trent Green 2 weeks ago for Reuben Droughns and picked Mewelde Moore up as a free agent.

Culpepper is my big point-getter though.

I'm in a big money league with a $250 entrance fee and $5 transactions. So far, i'm in first place in my division with a 7-2 record.

Draft strategy was to draft as many top flight starting runningbacks as possible and grab a qb by the 5th at the latest. It seems to have paid off. My RBs are Edgerrin James, Warrick Dunn, Domanick Davis, Rueben Droughns (Free agent pickup of the year) along with some backups in Sammy Morris, LaMont Jordan, and Dominic Rhodes for insurance. Warrick Dunn started out hot while James has been the model of consistency. I got Reuben Droughns off a guy for Keyshawn Johnson. I know, morons..

My WR are Andre Johnson (this year's Chad Johnson imo), Joe Horn, Mark Clayton, and Terry Glenn. I start 3 runningbacks and either AJ or Horn depending on the matchup.

My TEs disappointed until I picked up Jason Witten off waivers three weeks ago, and he's a stud, hottest TE in the league right now.

My Defense/ST has somewhat disappointed. I have Eagles and Lions D. Lions D somehow is scoring more fantasy points for me even though they're terrible in real life.
Where I've earned my money is in kickers. At one point I had the #1 and #2 kickers in the league, David Akers and John Carney. I have all but been guaranteed a playoff spot already, and playing against guys starting folks like Eddie George and TJ Duckett, I don't see much standing in my way.

I'm at 5-4 right now in my league (a game behind Thump for the second playoff spot in our division). Hasselbeck is my primary QB and has been a big dissapointment compared to what he did last year. Brees is very close to replacing him as my starter.

I picked-up Chris Brown real cheap last year and Jevon Walker the year before, so I am happy with how those two are panning out.

Of course, even if I make the playoffs, I won't be too happy, as nothing compares to my back-to-back 12-3 seasons in 2001 and 2002.

buckeyegrad,

You bitch about Hasselback being a disappontment but you have arguably the hottest QB in the league, Drew Brees, sitting on your bench the entire season.

I would have been starting him a few games ago if I was you.

In FF you can't be sentimental towards a certain player.

Hell, start Josh McCown, you spent your second pick on him!! :slappy:

Yes grab but how many of those years did you win the championship? Who is the THREE TIME -THREE TIME -THREE TIME Champ?

How can you be a "three" time champ? It seems to me your name is only on the trophey twice. The 1999 season doesn't count in the OFL record book because as you know it was a complete disaster.

A few games ago? Prior to two weeks ago, Bree's average in our league was only 15 points/game. That is not starting material in the OFL. Two weeks ago, Brees had his big break-out game--you can't fault a guy for missing a surprise, break-out game. This past week Brees would have started, but Hasselbeck was going against the 49ers, I couldn't bench him. This week SD is on a bye, so I don't have a choice. Brees will likely be the starter next week.

I'm in the deuce league, where I'm 6-4, which isn't bad considering I picked last out of 14. I'm up against tibor's warriors this week, though, so I could be wasting away again in Slurpeeville. :slappy:

In my other league, I'm 8-2, tied for first.
