I think Randy Walker is on our side. He put Oregon at 9, didnt rank FSU GT, or clemson. Had scUM at 16, his own team at 21, Iowa at 22. Seems like a regional thing.
Tressel and Tiller obviously likes the big10
Bob Petrino didnt rank scUM at all.
Tom O'brien put Oregon at 4 and VaTech at 5?
Pat Hill didnt rank his own team or scUM
Whoever Art Brilles is he voted Tulsa ahead of Okla, Iowa, and scUM
Phil Bennet has Oregon at 15?

Actually, I think that after week 6 they gave up on their own teams and decided to watch other teams play instead.LLLLoyd Carr and Phil Fulmer actually have decent rankings.
Obviously they must have their SID's do their polls.

I imagine these coaches put a whole 5 minutes of thought and a total of 3 brain cells into this. If I had all the responsibilities these coaches had, these ballots would be not much more than an annoyance and at the bottom of the stack of things I had to do. I wouldn't read too much into any of this IMO.

I would think the SID would help out with the polls... try to vote how the coach would, and consult him at the end.

its often said that an assistant or somebody else in the department does the voting, no telling unless they have to sign some sort of agreement.
As an aside, Not only did Mack vote USC no. 1, but his brother did also. Our ex co-DC, Dick Tomey, gave us a number one vote, as did Barnett, but he has been publicly voting us #1 all season. I think he might have been onto something even before he had to play us again.
Great link though, very interesting stuff, I spent way too much time looking at it though. Would have been funny if T. Willingham had ND ranked a lot lower.
