I always order "Medium Well" when I'm at a non-steak-specialty place because I figure I have a better chance of getting a medium then. When at a real steakhouse, I just order medium.

I agree with this. Who knows what you will get when you order medium. I like it pink and warm. My steak that is.


I always order mine medium and served on a plate with a gorgeous redhead with green eyes, with freckles on her shoulders, great smile, short skirt and a killer smile. I never get the complete order, but I can wish.

Don't know about the rest of you, but in my youth, it was bloody rare. As I became more 'seasoned', went from that to rare to medium. Now, as other posters expound, prefer medium well, to get the middle pink, but the outside crusty. As I grill at home, try to do that, but my wife and daughter like medium rare. Fortunately, can move the steaks aorund, and keep them as we all like them.

Anyone else's tastes change? Or is it a steak tartare crowd?
