The reason this topic sparked my interest is I heard a couple days ago, that there was an athlete who had a rare disorder that he couldnt breathe through his nose. I think it was a basketball player who broke his jaw. Anyone remember who it was?

Why don't you just have your adanoids removed?

i was pretty young when I was diagnosed with this, so I do not remember why we decided not to get it done. There may have been some complications or it may not have been considered a big deal. All I remember is learning why I breathe funny, and having them stick something so far up my nose they may have reached my brain.

I may be in the minority here, but can you explain what this is?

I have enlarged adanoids (glands in the back of my throat) which block off my nasal cavity (not entirely, but enough to force me to breathe thru my mouth).
