I don't see a thread for this. If I'm missing something, please delete.

This is kind of a must win for me. My wife went to HBU. I'll never live it down if OSU doesn't win, not to mention, it could be decades (or never) before OSU get's a chance to avenge the loss.

I'm not worried but I'd feel a lot better about this game when I see JimOtis4Heisman tell us the key to the game.

Houston Baptist sounds like one of the opponents in Blue Chips

interesting factoid from wikipedia

1983-84 Men's basketball team participated in the NCAA tournament in the play-in game vs. Alcorn State; 1983-84 Men's basketball team led the entire NCAA in team field-goal percentage, shooting 55.2%, this is also 10th all-time in NCAA history

According to 'pedia they were DI until 89 when they went NAIA and are now transitioning back to DI

That had some Boston College transfer who was a baller on their team last year

I believe what we call the play-in game (officially it is the opening round, as the tournament really starts with 65 teams) got started in 2001.

IIRC, in 1983 and 1984 there were like 4 or 5 "play-in" games that came before the tournament actually began. These were true "play-in" games as the contestants were not counted as being in the tournament.

Then around 1985 the tournament went to 64 teams and had that format until 2001.
