Somewhere in the 1-4 million scoville unit range, and its made right here in Cbus.
Ive got some at home, its fun to stick a toothpick into it and get people to try it, but man its hot.
Please give us a review when you try #6, the Turmeric Bomb, or Chile Lengua de Fuego. I like the taste of Scotch Bonnet, but it also had a mash of Reaper and Scorpion to really add the fire.I was gifted a Hot Ones set of sauces. A full 10 bottles. I used to watch the show a lot and was always curious. I can handle hot stuff, but there's no way in hell I'd eat an order of wings with a couple of the ones I've tried to far. No fucking way.
So far, I've tried three. The Classic (chili maple variety) is absolutely delicious. Not very hot at all, but very good. It's sweet and borderline BBQ saucey. But it's good. It has a little spice that builds over time, but it's really mild and kind of exactly what I want when I'm just eating chicken on the deck or something. I'm going to crush this bottle.
Out of curiosity, I tried Da Bomb and Apollo (The Last Dab). Da Bomb isn't great, but I have the Evolution variety rather than the Beyond Insanity one, so it's probably not dogshit like Beyond Insanity sounds like it is. Just not much going on there regardless. Hot as fuck, obviously. Burned for 20 minutes. Pretty much only worth trying out of curiosity.
Apollo is a different level. That legitimately was painful. It was weird though, because the sauce is pretty good. So that helped. I didn't have any milk or anything to help. Eventually it felt like the new saliva getting created was pure fire. I tried it again tonight in a much smaller amount and put a tiny drop on a piece of pizza. It was pretty good. Much more and it would have been clearing out the sinuses. I've at least discovered a use for this one.
This is the set I got. I don't know much about hot sauce, so throw out some suggestions and I'll keep posting when I try a new bottle.
I can think of 10 billions different dishes that you can use hot sauce on, but would never put tomatoes.Just like tomatoes.
South Lousiana cuisine is the finest in the world.
Good hot sauce is one of the two or three necessities of life.
We use that stuff all the time, but we got it in the gallon jug habanero version that is no longer available.agreed
true, but you have to find the right mixture of flavor and heat.
like others have mentioned, eating should not be painful.
the heat should be a compliment to the sauce and not the main character trait.
I enjoy the Louisiana brand personally.
great combo of flavor and heat.
Can use it on damn near everything.
Tabasco brand is for tourists.
Crystal brand is for those godless heathens that frequent the piss filled streets of NOLA during Decadence Fest.
You need to keep popsicles in stock for these occasions.Got some of Dave's Insanity sauce for Christmas... put a little bit in my pasta I made last night and while a few bites we're pretty damn hot, it was a good late night meal. This morning.. not so much. Butthole is still burning.
