Horseshoe Pitching

Does anyone else in here pitch horseshoes ?
I've been pitching for years on and off but now pitch everyday I can. Even indoors all winter long.

i dug up the front yard of our fraternity house to put in a pit, but i haven't played since i left. my dad had one in our backyard growing up, so i got fairly good at it. where do you play indoors?

We play in a city park bldg that is unused during the winter. They have to keep it heated so they let us put in 3 portable pits. and we let them kmow if they have any problems.

I'm fairly decent at it,but it's very enjoyable. Would definitely be cool to play indoors. I always enjoyed it much more then "cornhole"...Nothing like the clank of a shoe

I have tournament shoes and throw a 3/4 turn flat, much more accurate consistantly

Never played cornhole , more of a parking lot game to me.
The clank of metal is better by far.

Both give a good excuse for drinking beer but horseshoes works up more of a sweat therefore more beer must be consumed.

Today was so nice I got to pitch 70 or 80 shoes before the wind turned off the lake.
That was fun especially the segment when I threw about 50% .

Sounds like spring to me :tongue2: . I swear the temp dropped 10 or so degrees when the wind switched though.
But it's supposed to be warmer tomorrow so maybe I'll get my 100 shoes in. Gotta start working on the pits some too. they need work.
