Hamilton should just stop now and save it for the third round. These don't matter at all. Not sure why he's still batting. It'll be a downer if he comes up with three in the final.

I think I should get some vbet cred for calling Hamilton's final round total of 3. :p

When the crowd was chanting his name, the look of joy on his face brought a tear to my eye. What an unbelievable performance in the first round.

The folly of the made-for-tv format. The guy who hit 35 home runs loses to a guy who hit 22 home runs. Oh well, the bigger deal is where Hamilton came from to get to this point. What a comeback...in life.

Wait.....what's his story? I don't think the guys on television even mentioned it. :p

Where was that ump for Jeffrey Maier with a Derek Jeter ball in 1996?
Oh shit. Don't start with the Jeffrey Maier talk, otherwise Sloopy45 will come out of retirement just to set your shit straight.

The name "Jeffrey Maier" is like his personal fucking bat-signal.

I mentioned earlier tonight that if anyone can claim the real title "The Natural" it has to be Josh Hamilton. I'm terribly sad the Reds had to give him up for Edinson Volquez but it really couldnt have turned out better for those two guys. Hamilton is a great individual with courage most of us could only dream about. Getting his second chance he's made the absolute most out of it and I could barely be happier.

Way to go Josh, you're the real Home Run Derby winner!

Now if Volquez doesnt start the All-Star game its a sham. When you're playing for the freaking Reds and put up those type numbers, you should win 2 Cy Young awards!

Volquez is not starting. Ben Sheets is.

Bittersweet seeing Josh's performance last night ... knowing that if the Reds had kept Hamilton and traded Griffey instead, they'd probably be 10-15 games over .500.

Just think about an outfield of Dunn, Bruce, and Hamilton for 10 years ...

Wow. I think I'll go slit my wrists now. :sad2:

We wouldn't have gotten Volquez for Griffey. That's like 5-10 wins right there at the half-way point. Only time will tell who that trade worked out better for. People in Cincy seem to assume that it worked out best for the Reds given our pitching woes, but Hamilton may just be a once-in-a-lifetime kind of talent. He may end up pushing 200 RBIs this season!

In my opinion, I don't believe that Hamilton will be a once-in-a-lifetime talent. I think he's back, will be on top, and is here to stay.
