Home-faxing question

A family member has an HP printer/fax machine. His question was whether he can plug his laptop into the printer and use the phone number for his wireless internet card as the phone number for his fax machine?

He was unsure if he could receive faxes from his work using this phone number or if he has to have an entire different phone number for his fax machine.

Yes.. he can use his home line for outgoing and incoming faxes... but here's something for him to consider

He can get a FREE account with efax.com ... this will enable him to RECEIVE faxes in his email box... where he can view, store, print or delete the fax file... as long as he never gets more than xx pages a month, the service stays free... benefits to this are many... he'll get a virtual phone number that anyone can fax to.. the home phone line and printer don't have to be ON in order for him to rcv a fax... and ability to store these is a great helper

When he wants to send a fax... he'll merely use the HP printer and send it direct...
