Home-and-home or home-and-away?

Which doesn't accurately reflect the locations of the venues...home-and-away does.

I hate this stupid topic, but I gonna weigh in anyway...

I used to be in agreement with you, Mili, but no more.

Home-and-home is clearly the most descriptive. Each team plays a game at their home stadium.

Home-and-away, not so much. The 'away' game could be anywhere. Our series vs. Navy was not a home-and-home setup, as we played them at a 'neutral' site, i.e. not their home stadium.

At least, that's how I see it.

No fucking [Mark May], genius...

Ummm, I don't think you're as smart as you think you are. Or to better stoop to your level of commenting, "you're really fucking stupid." That line was in reply to your line of:

Student B: "OK, which 'home' game is played here and which 'home' game is at Buttfuck St?"
Student A: "I don't remember."
Student B: "Well, if they used the term home-away or away-home you'd know, wouldn't you?"

It's great and all you want to call it a home-away or an away-home, but unless you agree on a subset of rules that still won't help. Do you view the home-away vs. away-home distinction based on the team you root for being the first billing of the "home-away" or "away-home"? And therefore the exact same series will be referred to as both home-away and away-home by two different sets of people? Or is the first home team automatically assumed to be the first home team and it should therefore always be considered a home-and-away series and you need to know who's home first regardless. And what if it's an outsider referring to the series. Is the higher ranked/more prestigious school the first billing? And then in that case everybody may have a different decision on who is the first billing and who is the second billing.

Mili: "Dude you see that home-and-away series between Texas and Oregon? Gonna be sweet."
Everyone else: "Nice. Who's home first?"
Mili: "I just said fuckface."

On a separate note, I have no idea how you are a staff member, other than that fact that you live in Hawaii and therefore can help out at different hours of the day because otherwise you're a real fucking prick.

Merging related crap here...
Holy shit I finally get why this guy is such a tool arguing with everyone. Job security. If he doesn't start stupid shit there is no need to merge/move stupid shit around. Bravo.

An 'away' game is any game not at your home stadium or designated 'home venue' (although 'road' is usually used to specific the away game is at the opponent's venue and not a neutral site). And until someone shows me the term for a two-game series with both games at one team's venue (e.g., the OSU/Wazzu series I mentioned before) then my claim stands. That sort of series is a true home-and-home for one team and an away-and-away for the other. As for the Navy game, it was moved to M&T Bank Stadium because it held almost 58,000 people vice Navy-Marine Corps Stadium which holds only 30,000. And seeing as M&T Bank Stadium is less than 30 minutes from the Naval Academy, it was a designated home game for them. Check the box scores at all the sports sites, which all list the game as a home game for Navy.

Holy fucking shit, are you really that fucking stupid? The term only refers to the fact that each team gets a home and an away game, not which team gets the home game first. Now you're just arguing to argue, and you sound like a moron...and you still haven't said what term would apply to a series where both games are at one team's venue. Your shit is the main reason why I moved this horse abortion out of a valid thread.

Holy fucking [Mark May], are you really that fucking stupid? The term only refers to the fact that each team gets a home and an away game, not which team gets the home game first. Now you're just arguing to argue, and you sound like a moron...and you still haven't said what term would apply to a series where both games are at one team's venue. Are you really that fucking stupid that you A) can't remember what you typed and B) can't identify a direct quote that refers to your post. Let me re-post it again:

Student B: "OK, which 'home' game is played here and which 'home' game is at Buttfuck St?"
Student A: "I don't remember."
Student B: "Well, if they used the term home-away or away-home you'd know, wouldn't you?"

So it sounds like your response to Student B's second question above would actually be "no you wouldn't"? Or are you just contradicting yourself and want to change what you said about "the term only refers to the fact that each team gets a home and an away game, not which team gets the home game first"? Again, just to let you in on a little secret that most people know but you apparently don't: You're not as smart as you think you are.

And no, the reason why you had to move this stuff over is not because of my posts. It's because you're a combative dick who can't be wrong. Otherwise there would be nothing to move.

And for your question on what I would call the series where both games are at one team's venue, how about a "Reasonable Mili post"? It happens once every few years, but I guess it does technically happen. Or to actually take you seriously, how about simply a 2 game home series? Unless the definition of term requires it to be in the format of "blank" and "blank".

One. Last. Time. "Home-and-away" means one home game at each team's venue and one away game at each team's venue. Period. Never claimed order of which team's home game was first. If you can't, or refuse, to accept this, then you are truly fucking helpless.

Oh, and I did have to move all this shit to keep it from polluting a thread that had nothing to do with home-and-home/home-and-away. But, feel free to keep thinking otherwise in you own little distorted world...
