Forth down, Krenzel was under a strong pass rush, he throws the ball over 42 yards in the air, off of his front foot but without a plant foot, making the throw basically all arm, and he makes a perfect pass hitting Jenkins on the run at the goal line.

I wonder if the landlord ever found the dent in the ceiling of my apartment I made when I jumped off of the couch after that play :groove:

I heard a sound bite about this a while ago where he said the same thing that that wasn't where the play was intended to go. I can't remember what it was that he said this on though.

It was on the Big Ten Network's presentation of the game. JT said that Krenzel was supposed to hit Hartsock on an out route or Gamble on the curl. He also had the option of running if he had a lane. The one thing he couldn't do was throw it deep to Jenkins. :tongue2:

Hartsock was dragging across the middle, just past the 1 yard they needed...

while we're at it, i'll throw in my story. i fell asleep around halftime becuase the game was so incredibly boring. i woke up with about 5 left in the 4th. i was by myself because my roommates were out of town. when the play happened, i ran outside of my apt on campus and just took it all in. you could hear every house/apartment in the campus neighborhood going nuts. cars were driving down summit honking their horns b/c they had it on the radio. i will never forget that feeling. it's really cool to be a part of a community like that.

You're incorrect, it was Jenkins who didn't know it was 4th down.

I believe I am correct. I don't know about Jenkins, but I found a couple write-ups about Hartsock not knowing, which is also what I recall.

Hmmm. Fans wonder what is going on with the Ohio State passing game? Why is it not better? It turns out that the 'Holy Buckeye' play against Purdue sets up like this: 4th and 1, the season is on the line, the national title could be lost, and Hartsock did not realize it was 4th down and Gamble/Jenkins both run incorrect routes ...

Cont'd ...
