From what I've heard, the buzz on the 'net led the director to go back and reshoot a few scenes, adding more foul language and nudity.

i heard that. specifically, i heard that the dorector added "We got muthafuckin' snakes!" to the script after that line appeared in so many farks.

i also heard that the Director wanted to change the name, but Sam Jackson said he'd pull out if it wasn't called Snakes on a Plane.
