I have to admit, at one point last night I pulled the dreaded "What if?" When they were talking about howly recruited the two classes of seniors were I realized we were missing a highly rated running back. Yep, I was thinking of you know who: the guy who has worked himself out of college and professional ball. I can honestly admit I never thought if the outcome would be different, just what it would have been like had he stuck around.

we'd probably have an 03 nc as well. we'd probably have lost 2 games last year and would have 1 extra heisman. this year would be irrelivant as he would have left after his junior year.
what about Drushaun Humphrey (RIP)? what about the lack of a RB in the '03 class? that situation screwed us more than most people think... IMHO, we still haven't gotten over it... when your best RB is a True Soph at Ohio State, and the coaches never even play the other guys in what could be the biggest game of the season, you have some serious depth issues...

I've been flamed on the MoC issue so many times, what's one more? The difference between the 2002 team with MoC and without him was made obvious during the season. With him we kicked the hell out of GOOD teams, without him we barely survived Cincinnati, Illinois and Purdue. With him we won a national championship, without him we didn't. Was he worth the investment? Now, imo, that's a valid question.

Follow up...and the backups are a as follows:

Schitkner - Senior - former FB that could not win that job
Haw - Redshirt Freshman - no game experience and can't seem to get on field
Wells - True Freshman - NO game experiennce
Lane - Redshirt Freshman - Converted CB

With and without him we won every single one of those games in 2002. With or without a healthy Craig Krenzel the same can not be said in 2003.

I choose not to break down Saturday night's game, because I still haven't recovered yet, and I don't feel it's fair to pile on to the coaches and players that worked their asses off in that game.
