Tis' the season so I thought we might want to share our stories about those in need. Here is the story that triggered this post:

Wife and I are driving around town yesterday and we see a guy at the corner holding up a sign for a house auction. We notice that it is in an area of town where you would not expect homes to up for auction so we stop to check it out.

I am chatting with the guy at the house and mention seeing the sign. He chuckles and tells me that as he was getting off the freeway he saw this homeless guy with a sign that says "Will work for food".

So he pulls over and tells the guy he will pay him $10 per hour to hold up his sign instead.

Guy turns him down. Why?

Cause he makes more per hour with the sign he's got.

You should see all the homeless down here in Austin...ask WolverineTX he lives here.....they are on EVERY corner by a traffic light!!! I have never seen anything like it till I moved here....now I don't even pay attention to them anymore....although there was one guy right by the Univ. of Texas campus with a sign that said, "Why lie? Need money for beer!" I thought that was hilarious!!!

I would like to note that I have zero interest in living on "Martha's Wood". Martha shouldn't have ANY wood.

You saw him too, huh?

You should have seen the house. Five bedrooms with a pool, and when I was there the high bid was $165,000.

One thing that really bothers me, and I guess it shouldn't, is when people run through the gates at the subway on my pass. They will crowd in right behind me so they can get through when the gate opens. Granted, it bothers me more when teenagers do it, but I don't like it when anyone practically rapes me from behind to get through the gate! I would rather just buy them the $1.25 ticket!

Hard to miss the neon yellow signs. Saw a couple at opposite corners of Columbus & Hoover and another at Stringtown and Gantz.

$165k? Jeebus. Wish I had waited three more months to buy.....:tongue2:

So, wait. You'll pay someone $1.25 not to molest you? Well, let's pretend I was going to assault you a thousand times...can I get $1,250?

I'll just go ahead and PM you my address. No personal checks accepted. Thanks!
