Help with Tickets for UK Fan

Hey Folks,

I'm a big Buckeye fan in the UK. We get CFB games on Pay TV over here throughout the season so get to see quite a few of the games live. It depends though on which games the broadcaster here chooses each weekend but we get the highlight and discussion shows too so get to see everything going on.

I've always loved watching the Rose Bowl so, last month, as the Buckeyes were in it, I treated myself to a trip to LA (took my good lady wife for company) to take in the game. It was a fantastic experience, much different to sports over here and we both had a great time. Got to high five some of the players going off of the field and saw coach Meyer coming out in his golf buggy! We were both freezing though waiting for the transit buses - thought SoCal was supposed to be nice and warm....(-:

That trip was a kind of last minute thing but we had always planned to come over later this year to take in a game at the Shoe. We've now confirmed this as the Badger game on October 26th. I'm hoping some of you can help me with the best options for getting tickets.

For the Rose Bowl I got them on Stubhub but obviously paid well over the ticket price (more than $1200 for 2 $215 tickets) and that would be my last resort if I have to do it again. It works out really expensive though.

So, just wanted to ask you guys if you know of any other options for getting tickets, ideally in the noisy sections if we can!

Thanks a lot
Riley

Go Bucks!!

There are always tickets available outside the stadium on game day, and even if this is dicier than having tickets in hand I have never failed to get tickets in over 50 years of doing it. Stubhub won't that much over the regular price in comparison to the Rose Bowl tho. Other than that watch the buckeye sites and subscribe to the Columbus dispatch and the classifieds. The Wisc. game is one that has the higher prices I think. Even if you miss out on tickets the tailgating is almost as good.
postscript: I don't go to many games anymore since I'm older than dirt and have had to give up on most of the good things in life like the "Shoe" , drinking till I puke, sex, and anything athletic except horseshoes.

yeah, I've been going to games for 30 years and have never not been able to get tix outside the stadium on game day for a game I really wanted to attend.

OSU vs. *ichigan, when both teams are highly ranked is the only regular season game I have ever had to really extend the budget for. Obviously, the premium games (*ichigan, PSU, a good MSU or Wisc team, or a good non-con game) might be a little more pricey, but nothing like all the extra fees u would pay on stub hub or other online ticketing options available, especially for a Bowl Game, like the Rose.

I know a lot of people don't like to travel all that way without knowing they have their tickets secured already, but my advice would be to get there early, enjoy the tailgaiting experience, the wonderful people of central Ohio, get yourself some Buckeye gear on Lane Ave. and then scope out a few spots where guys are selling tickets around the lots and stadium, and then decide where u want to sit and how much u want to pay. U should find something reasonable for the Wisc game in late Oct.

Enjoy the game. Nothing like the Horseshoe.

BB, tell them the truth. Tell them about how you liked to get drunk, have sex, and throw horseshoes during games and THAT is why you can't go to the Shoe anymore. Mind you, I hear it hasn't been the same since you stopped going and doing that during games.:banger::drunks: :panic:
You act like there is someone who doesn't liked to get drunk, have sex, and throw horseshoes during games. Like haha. Oh wait I forgot you're celibate. so sorry.
