Rental agencies hate the drop off in another city! :(

You might be better off using a bus or train if you can, for part of your trip.

Yeah, it's a bit hard without a car since we plan on putzing around Colorado, going from Denver and ending up in Durango.

I'm guessing Manfred's university won't pay for jack, considering they won't even pay for his hotel room when he attends conferences. It's a joke.

Durango Airport is fine. But, for the occasional loose deer on the runway.......
But, more importantly, flying out of Durango limits your options.
What about a little change in plans, going back to Denver or even
Albuquerque?

Eh... just rent it... tell them you're dropping it off in Denver... get lots of insurance.... Drive to Durango... wreck the fucker... and call it in. If they ask if you need a replcement car... tell them, "Hell no... the brakes went out... almost fucking killed me.... I'm never getting into one of your rental cars again, YOU'LL BE HEARING FROM MY LAWYER!"

Call a cab and go to the aiport.

Going to Albuquerque or back to Denver is a pain. That's a 4-hour or 8-hour drive. I'll try Greyhound -- we might be able to take that to Durango.

I'm not sure I understand which part of the trip is the most important - the Durango end point or the Denver start point.

But, on the off chance that Durango is where you have to go, why not just fly there directly and then do your tour of the Rockies in the Rental, ending back at Durango 5 days later?

That way your car rental is local - and you don't have to burn rubber (literally).

The difference in flight costs cannot be that great, not with such a long period between outbound and return, surely?

Ak your not being helpful! :roll1:

Why whatever do you mean, Taos? They'll probably get their money back from the rental, and if they play their cards right they can probably scam the difference between airfare out of Durango vs. Denver... and.. that extra hop to Vegas that they'll have to take before they get to their final destination.

See... its very much about who has the balls to pull it off... and... well... I've met Sushi before... and... beleive me... I know how cheap she can be.:wink2:
