I will need a rental car in May... anybody know of online codes (where you don't need to bring the coupon in at the time of rental) or a good place to get coupons off rental cars?

I will be renting the car for a week.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Priceline.com is the way to go.

You can only put in a bid every 3 days but smy wife started out at like $15.00 got denied and then tried $19 and got it.

$19 a day for a rental car isn't bad.

Threw in an extra one just to sweeten the deal.

I'm going to fire up this thread again. Any other suggestions? The price of rental cars is ridiculous right now. We need one in July for 5 days.

Try calling your insurance company (at least if you have rental on your policy). A lot of insurance companies will get you their discounted rate as a gesture of customer service. Your insurance company won't actually pay for the rental, of course (unless it's due to a loss), but many will assist you in either setting it up or getting you their discount.

My recommendation as well, and don't fall into the additional insurance spiel if you carry full covg (comp / coll) on any of the vehicles you own.

check southwest.com in the rapid rewards section... then check the discounts for rental cars. Try all the codes for all the carriers they offer (some will give a discount even though it shouldn't)... prices change daily, so keep checking...

It's still coming out to over $500 with my insurance discount. I really don't understand why it's so high. Maybe it's because we're dropping it off in a different city. So frustrating. :smash:
Drop-Off Rental? That is exactly why it so high.

What are your pick-up and drop-off points?

Does Manfred's job or your job give you access to corporate rate for rentals?
