Help, stuck in Roanoke for the game tomorrow........

Hi, first post here.


I am a Columbus transplant and former OSU student who now lives in Charlotte - better weather, not so much for sports.

Anyway I ahve to visit family in Roanoke tomorrow and will be forced to watch the game there.

Any recommendations for a good spot? Thinking Buffalo Wild Wings, unless there is an Ohio State Alumni spot.

There is the Buffalo Wild Wings in Roanoke's Valley View Mall that will be showing the game but the atmosphere and food are distracting. Some others that should have the game on are

There is another BWW in Lynchburg at least as miserable as the one in Roanoke..

"Mudpuppys" in Lynchburg (should have the OSU game on though they are ACC oriented, mostly populated by UVA and VT fans) Mudpuppy's Pub in Lynchburg, VA - AOL Local Yellow Pages

"Tarazona" in Lynchburg (Tarazona is a cigar/coffee shop with 2 HD TVs, if you ask politely he will probably set one to the OSU game for a customer)
This link is directions to the shop next door because this is a new location. Be wary what you say about the Miami Hurricanes in here. If you dont mind the drive or the smoke it's my personal favorite spot to watch football.

I'm an hour south of you in Martinsville. The two BW3s in Roanoke are at the malls. One at Valleyview in the north, and the other just west of Tanglewood mall in the south. I've never been to either for a game, but they'll definitely be showing it. There is also an Awful Arthur's in the center in the square area downtown that has a pretty nice sports bar area. It may be worth a try.

I live in the area and recommend that if your relatives have cable to watch the game on ESPN at their house. The reason is that Va Tech has a home game vs. Florida St at the same time that the Bucks play. Considering the nearest professional teams are 3-4 hours away from Roanoke, Va Tech is the only sports team in town so I would bet that you will find it tough to find anything more than a small corner tv with the Bucks game (and no sound) on at a sports bar with 95% of the patrons watching Va Tech. I would say the best bet if you have to get out of the house would be either of the B-Dubs in Roanoke since they will have enough tv's to offer a small one to another game besides Va Tech. Just my two cents, good luck in your search....
