Help finding tOSU graphics

gregorylee

I'd rather be napping!!
OK, I am building a dog house over the holiday weekend. My dog's name is Buckeye. My house is a light grey so I wanted to match the house and then paint is name across the door in scarlet and maybe try my hand at painting some graphics on it. I did want to do the cartoon brutus (like my tat) but other than that I am drawing a blank. I thought maybe my good Buckeye brotheren could help me out with some ideas.

The dog house is 6'x8' and about 3.5' at the eaves so there will be a good bit of room to cover. Before the cracks start, we have a large dog, 3 yr old Great Pyr #110-#120.

Thanks for the help everyone

Greg

How about a block-O stained glass window?

Maybe a Buckeye helmet and you can put stickers on it when he does tricks!
... not biting the mailman? Buckeye!
... scaring away the salesman? Buckeye!
... doing your business in the Michigan fan's yard? Two Buckeyes!

Seriously, you can get decals or stencils like this:

that might look cool.

Stained glass.... Yeah, I could see my wife birthing a calf when I mention that.

I was just kidding, but I do remember building a dog house with my dad when I was a kid and we went all out... shingles on the roof, windows, a little electric heating pad... so I'm just crazy enough to try it. You could put some plexiglass windows in and use a stained glass kit (really just paint that looks like stained glass and solder) to make a pretty cool looking window for about $10-15. You can buy molding for chair-rail over wainscotting (sp?) that has a little lip in it to will hold the window in place.

Are you going for vinyl siding or brick? :wink2:

Well, you know what is funny about it. I did exactly what everyone warned me about. I started last Friday, there was a storm coming through so I did it in my garage. Now eave to eave is 5' and length with overhang is 7', my gate is 4', and the thing probably weighs close to 200 now (half shingled and no siding). I have to figure that it will be 4 guys minimum to get it over the fence (6'). I was warned to build it where I wanted it, I did not listen. :(

Sounds like something I'd do too. You might be taking a section of fence down (or knocking it down if you try to go over it).

Good Luck!

Okay, a friend of mine moved last fall and we ended up moving his (way overbuilt) doghouse out of the backyard. The thing must have weighed 150-200lbs. He had the same problem - the doghouse was bigger than the gate and there was no way to go other than lifting it over the fence while walking through the gate. So, three of us were moving it, and we got it propped up on the fence, and I went through the gate to get it from the other side. Trouble was, there was a rose bush on the other side of the fence, so I ended up doing a 'limbo'-type move, avoiding the prickers while carrying the load of a third of this doghouse. I can't believe I didn't end up at the hospital in traction, but somehow I made it...

I don't know that mine is really "overbuilt" it is just big, for an idea. The roof will be roughly 1.3 sq (shingles) #60 a bundle, that is 240 for the shingles alone. Everything else won't really be that heavy, so maybe 3 to 325 when done.
