Help a NEWBIE out...a few ticket Q's

Team Dentist
so i'm going to be a dental student at OSU this coming fall - i got the 5-game student ticket package. never been to an OSU football game and i have a few questions:

1. my seat is 33B, Row 16... is that any good? it looks pretty meh according to the seatviewer in that sticky topic... what/where are the most coveted student seats? who gets them?

here's a pic: http://seatdata.com/images/ncaa_ohio_state/800x600/33b.jpg

i thought maybe i'd be able to nab a better seat being a grad student but guess not...

2. my gf doesn't go to OSU but i wanted to take her to a game(s)... what would be the best strategy for getting us to sit together?

-upgrade mine to general public and find a her a general public ticket as well?

-or find her another student ticket (perhaps from a fellow student)... the only thing here is; how strictly do they enforce seats? would we be able sit together even though we have technically have different spots?

I have sat in 33b before... For most games it is kinda meh to my liking but if you have USC be happy to be in the stadium. The only really bad seats IMO are B level under the covering from rows 8 and up and at the extreme top of C deck but you can still see everything. I also am not a huge south stands fan. If you are trying to go with your GF you could upgrade and get another ticket or try the student ticket approach and to a certain extent most gates will allow you threw with one id. Make sure the gate is packed. I went to the PSU game thru a packed gate and was like 5 min to kickoff and my ticket never got checked, I wasn't waiting and I walked right thru. Never got stopped. So they do there best to handle things but unfortunately most gate reps are too old to care or keep up with a big crowd. And it usually is easier to squeeze two into one seat in the student section cause they always stand... just have her sit on your lap if there isn't room :wink2:. Irregardless, being a Buckeye fan always be loud and help the home field.

I have the option of either Section 15 A row 33 or Section 25 C row 17? Which ones are the better seats? Can you see the whole field from 15 A and is 25 C to high?

The seats are pretty close in quality, unless you are in a high row for the c-deck seats or a really low row for the a-deck seats.

Row 33 of A deck is the top row or close to the top row. You should have good sight lines. I always prefered A or AA over C because I liked to be as close to the field as possible. Either of those tickets would be nice though.

It will be easier to get your g/f into your section with student tickets because students are usually standing. Makes it easier to fit. And they don't complain about overcrowding like the old people. You can usually get in without an ID pretty easily. If one usher asks, tell him you forgot it in your car and move on to the next one. There's only about 200 ushers taking tickets. Most won't care.
