You kids stay off my lawn!
I began to noitce that my computer was running slow so I defragged. Saw the problem instantly: about 50 gigs of somebody else's shit on my HD... Bright red on the defrag program... can't find it in any visible files. I've scanned twice, gone through all my files and documents... put security back on.. cleaned out the cookie jar and can't get rid of more than 2 or 3 gigs. What's going on here? How do I clean it out. I've put all my important word/pic/music files onto a back up and am ready to clean out my files... but then I ask myself why when they're not the problem. any ideas out there? Oh, and I shut down Azerus and am no longer the seed salesman for Rocketman.

Well even though I kinda doubt that is the case, I honestly would just back up your important stuff and format it. You can clean up, defrag, etc......til the cows come home, but nothing really does jack shit as compared to a good format. I realize it's easier for some to format than it is for others, but every so often, it is a necessity........especially with Windows.

I was able to make all the files visible and cleared out about 13 gigs of stuff I didn't want. It appears that my problem is multiple files of my own stuff, especially my files for the two books I'm trying to write and my music.

Is there a program that goes through and cleans out repeating files? For instance, it looks like my book maybe stored in three different places, same with all of my music files.

I guess I could pull all music files forward into one system, Real, Media Player, or Nero. I have them in all three forms because they won't play in Media if they're a Real file and vice versa.

Last, I noticed that I have a lot of my wife's files on my computer. We're networked together and some of her shit seems to have wnadered over to my place
