As you can tell by my name I am a Longhorn fan and alumni. Just wanted to come over and talk some football with yall before the big game in September. Also wanted to extend an invite to any of you who may be making the trip to Austin to join our tailgate. We always have plenty of beer and food for everyone and we would love to have you as our guest. I am not here to talk trash or sling mud at Ohio State. As a matter of fact I really respect Ohio State and it's football program for being a NCAA Icon for years.

I can honestly say that I am worried about the game the second week in Spetember. No matter what you read other places (especially hornfans.com) every Longhorn fan is worried. (BTW don't believe 90% of the things you see at hornfans.com and please don't judge me by the things you see there I HATE IT) Even though Austin is a tough place to play and yall did lose a lot of guys on defense. You will have an explosive team that will be a force to be recokoned with this year. Feel free to ask me anything you may want to know about our team this year and I will do my best to give you an unbiased and honest answer.

I think our defense will be one of the top units in the country for the entire year. We are also stacked on offense at the skill poisitions except for obviously at QB (which I realize is huge). The key for the QB situation this year is to get a kid in there that won't lose games...he doesn't even have to win games...just don't lose them. I think you will see both Colt McCoy and Jevan Sneed in the Ohio State game but after seeing them both in the spring I have to give the nod to Sneed. He has a stronger arm, is more elusive and is just a great athlete...but he is a freshman.

Anyway, it's good to be here. Good luck with your season this year.

Great post.

Its funny it seems most Longhorn fans over here dislike Hornsfans.com also.

Feel free to check out the official game thread.

excellent first post. Always great to have good outsiders on this forum.

Click on 'forums' up in the top left of the screen. You'll find a varitey of forums, including 'Buckeyes' where the Texas game thread is stickied to the top. It has gone downhill a little recently, but it's hard to discuss an upcoming game for months on end.

Nice to have you aboard, Ed. I live in San Antonio and yeah, some of the prople I know down here are worried, too.

It should be a great game, though. I've thought that UT would be a good year-to-year rival for the Bucks. Hell, scUM has Notre Dame every year. Why not? A yearly match-up would almost rival the OSU/scUM game.
(Notice I said "almost" :tongue2: )

Anyway, glad to have you, friend--stick around!! We have a lot of fun here at BP!!
