Comparing him to Coker should've been a bannable offense. Ludicrous

I can still remember the interview with him and Urban prior to the CFP game. That dude was a deer staring into headlights ....Please add the Mark Helfrich comparisons as well.
I’m fairness, I can’t say that I’ve seen the Helfrich comparison here on BP, so it could be almost like a preemptive measure if it became a bannable offense lol.
Rinaldi had a piece on Big Noon too. What a great piece on gameday...
I'm so glad he's our coach and what a good man to be willing to talk about his father to reach others.
He's literally a blend of Tressel and Urban. Tressel is my favorite but Ryan has passed Urban already by far and is closing in on Tress.
I think they're trying to avoid putting him in a position where he could get banged up and hurt like Justin Fields last year. The games this year have not been close enough to take that risk. For Oregon Stroud was not the same guy so having him tuck and run would not have been the answer then either.Per 11W:
On Stroud not running the ball much, Day says he thought his quarterback "made pretty good decisions" and "did a pretty good job extending plays" against Penn State. Day says there weren't many plays where he thought Stroud should have made a different decision.
Nobody is raising hell over Stroud not tucking and running on pass plays that break down. They're raising hell on why Stroud doesn't get at least a couple read option plays where he can pull the ball and take free yards. Don't treat us like idiots, Coach. You come off as an ass.
I agree there are plenty of reasons Day could give that would make sense and I would probably agree with. Maybe he thinks by not addressing it he maintains some advantage of the unknown. But you're not going to whip that play out with a freshman QB for the first time late in the season/playoffs when he has to read NFL talent. Maybe Stroud doesn't have the ability to run that play successfully based off what he's shown in practice, but you don't even have to say that. Just say we don't want to put our QB at risk for unnecessary hits and the fans asking for that play can get fucked. Whatever. It just irritated me to read Day's nonanswer. Maybe the reporter asking Day about it screwed up the question and I'm just being a fucktard over it.I think they're trying to avoid putting him in a position where he could get banged up and hurt like Justin Fields last year. I get that if other teams see him tuck and run it would force them to handle one more wrinkle from an offense that is already loaded at every point of attack, but the question is whether it's been necessary thus far to take that risk, especially given that Stroud may already be nursing a shoulder thing from earlier.
That's precisely the point... there are reasons, but I don't think there are many / any that Day would actually give. Too many talking heads out there looking for something which could be used to cast doubt on Stroud or his ability.I agree there are plenty of reasons Day could give that would make sense and I would probably agree with.
