Good talent on that team, but nothing compared to 1992.1984 was pretty much chock full of future NFL starters and pro-bowlers (even had a Rhodes Scholar), and Earl still managed a 9-3.

Nate ClementsIt wasn't fumbled. It was such a shanked punt it kicked up and hit an up man that had no earthly idea the ball was near him. Mid 3rd quarter. Sparty got a second wind from actually getting the ball across the 50 yard line and the wheels fell off at that point.
Like watching a train wreck
That's right, I've tried to not relive that game in my head but forgot that detail. Now the train wreck is coming back, I just remembered that play being a turning point. It wasn't fumbled. The way a friend of mine suggested coping is to assume that if they hadn't lost that game Cooper would have just spit the bit against scUM again. At least we got to watch David Boston wreck them that year.I'm pretty much still like this when I get triggered about '98 but it's only been 27 years. I'm sure at some point I'll hit the acceptance phase.

Those rumors were always going to be there. No better time to renegotiate your deal with OSU if he stays. Better win the Natty or the Lunatic Fringe will be out in force ....Day to NFL rumors heating up again. I hope OSU doesn't lose him. A couple news sources on ths has me concerned.
No doubt. I hope he stays and builds a juggernaut, however, as fans we would be naive to believe he won't bolt at some point. Less BS and more money. Those rumors were always going to be there. The lunatic fringe thing is kind of overblown. Every college has ridiculous fans. OSU definitely has some of the most ridiculous spoiled fans. One would think Day is well aware of the pressure cooker. Those rumors were always going to be there. No better time to renegotiate your deal with OSU if he stays. Yeah, but other team’s lunatic fringe tops out at 5, maybe 6%.The lunatic fringe thing is kind of overblown. Every college has ridiculous fans. OSU definitely has some of the most ridiculous spoiled fans. One would think Day is well aware of the pressure cooker.
You have no idea of how "should of" that year should have been if you weren't of age yet. That team was the most compete, experienced and talented since probably the prime Woody years. There were no weaknesses on paper, except at head coach.
Fucking Cooper
I get a knot in my stomach thinking about it all these years later. '98 MSU was the most devastating loss I have ever experienced as a fan.
Where did you get that number?Yeah, but other team’s lunatic fringe tops out at 5, maybe 6%.
Our lunatic fringe is at 20% and will be over 25% if we don’t win a Nati this year. I mean, look at the number of lunatics on this board alone.
