That's right, I've tried to not relive that game in my head but forgot that detail. Now the train wreck is coming back, I just remembered that play being a turning point.

The way a friend of mine suggested coping is to assume that if they hadn't lost that game Cooper would have just spit the bit against scUM again. Those rumors were always going to be there. No better time to renegotiate your deal with OSU if he stays. Better win the Natty or the Lunatic Fringe will be out in force ....

The lunatic fringe thing is kind of overblown. Every college has ridiculous fans. OSU definitely has some of the most ridiculous spoiled fans. One would think Day is well aware of the pressure cooker.

Our lunatic fringe is at 20% and will be over 25% if we don’t win a Nati this year. I mean, look at the number of lunatics on this board alone.

There is a difference between fans who are critical and expect results, especially the results of a rivalry game, and fans who go way way too far with death threats, emailing/IM'ing coaches/players, following family members around and are just completely miserable and unreasonable.
The crazy unabomber fringe in most big programs probably is a very small amount . Even in the NFL there are nutsos.
Day knows he has to beat TTUN. He doesn't have to be perfect, but he has to win that game every few years.
There are also just vocal fans, especially on social media who just spout out stupid stuff. Those fans are stupid, obnoxious and also harmless. They have unreasonable expectations, which are more of a result of JT and Urban having success against TTUN.
Bama fans are going absolutely ballistic right now. Deboer's leash is getting smaller. Nobody mentions Bama fans.
Much of the criticism is coming from Herbie, who is a little too close to the program to be making any statements.
Saban coached at OSU under Woody. He knows as well as anybody that winning the Game is a be all end all to alot of fans. What does he expect?
OSU does have more crazies than there should be, but more than any other top program, not so sure.
