I would imagine the goal of this website is to collect as many currently valid phone numbers as possible to sell to telemarketers...
This looks like a lot of fun but I think Mili is on the right track. The BIG topic today in database marketing is network analysis. Inter-relations between individuals are modelled and from that you figure out likelihood to respond to offers.
The logic of network analysis is that people can be identified by their communications with others as members of groups containing those people. If someone in the network responds to an offer, others in the network are more likely to respond. The increased likelihood of their response is a function of the nature of the relations (e.g., family, work), interests (e.g., sports teams, hobbies, professional interests), and other factors (gender, household income, etc) that characterize the group of people.
Once you know a network of people, you can begin to experiment with offers across the network. Analyzing responses helps then refine the model. Knowing the nature of the calls people are making to each other in text, which can be analyzed using textual analysis techniques such as content analysis and correspondence analysis, goes a long way to refining the model because it helps you identify the types of relations people have with each other.
So, my advice is that this may be fun and by all means enjoy it if you wish, but be advised that the information and content is being used by someone and that they will probably sell that information to help database marketers target you with offers. You may also be opening yourself to future scams.
