Harvard of the Midwest (split from recruiting)

The first school that comes to mind is University of Chicago. I would think that's the best school in the Midwest, with Northwestern, Oberlin, Grinnell, and Carleton College as close seconds. Just my impression, though. Absolutely no research went into this post. :biggrin:

I visited the University of Chicago a couple of years ago with my son. They said they have the most Nobel Prize laureates of any university. It's a more rigorous curriculum than Northwestern, which is rated about the same as some of the Ivy League schools; but behind Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.
