Today is a special day for a beloved member of the Ohio State family.
Its National Nut Day and we love the Buckeye, but more especially the best mascot in college football Brutus!
We all know that Brutus is celebrating his 50th birthday this year as well.
Brutus is now very famous. He’s appeared in commercials, on TV, and now even in music videos.
We all know and love Brutus. He’s been the mascot for Ohio State since 1965. You can find him every Ohio State game on the sidelines cheering the Buckeyes. Brutus also loves the attention. He loves to pose for pictures and play in front of the TV cameras.

Brutus has gone through some changes in his 50 years. If you ask me, I think he’s had some work done. Now I’d never say that’s for sure, but you be the judge on that.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Brutus a few times. Also this past February Brutus held one his give away contests on Twitter for tickets to an Ohio State Basketball game and I won.
Thanks for the tickets again big guy!
Brutus also follows me on Twitter, which is super cool!
So on this National Nut Day I salute the best damn nut in the land
Here’s to you Brutus! Never change!
