I'm not complaining. It'll be interesting to see what new concept is brought in. Possibly the "forerunners"?

I'm not totally sure, as no one else is, but I'm thinking you may be coming into where the book "Ghosts of Onyx" ended. Which is basically a Forerunner instillation that was designed to be a Shield World for selected species from various Flood infected worlds and are basically "shielded" from the Flood and the effect of setting off the Halo Rings.

Now, does this mean that the planet you see Master Chief above is Onyx? Maybe, but it could just as easily be some other Shield World or even an instillation designed solely for the surviving members of the Forerunners themselves. This would also explain why the planet or Forerunner instillation is acting aggressive towards the Chief's ship as "it" would consider anything as a threat once the Halo rings are either activated or destroyed. Time will tell I guess.

yea, it's all guess work, i'm guessing this is the same planet as seen at the end of H3, and we had no idea, not sure if it's Onyx or not, would be cool if it was and he met up with Blue Team on the planet (even though that didn't happen in the book, but hell, since when have they followed the book )
