or 17 tops. The D was playing their asses off that night despite being on the field for 80% of the game.

While getting absolutely ZERO help from the offense that night. Hell that defense got a near pick 6 and the offense still somehow came away with zeor points. Also keep in mind that was easily the best offense in the country that year, an offense that an Alabama defense being labeled as the GOAT couldn't even stop. They gave up 31 to Clemson.

Schiano has one hell of a defensive mind and that come out several times through the season. The secondary was really inexperienced and is coming around late and will be better next year. They need to find a LB coach that runs a 4-3 and knows how to coach his players to it.Won’t be devastated if he leaves, but also would like to see what he could do with a secondary not gutted by early departures and some better coaching at LB.
Coordinators on D honestly will probably make or break Day’s first couple of seasons. Glad he makes the big bucks because this isn’t an easy call, IMO.
Grinch is on thin ice with the performance in his first season here
Safety performaceOut of curiosity, how do you delineate his specific short comings?
Sorry, but the secondary is just as shitty as it was in game one...virtually zero improvement throughout the season.Schiano has one hell of a defensive mind and that come out several times through the season.
