Scout Evaluation said:
Bryant is a running back that runs with power behind his pads. He is someone that can run through tackles, get the extra yards after contact, and break tackles on a regular basis. He has good straight-line speed, but he is not an elusive back. He is a power guy, a straight ahead runner, and someone who can wear defenses down. He has also shown the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. - Chad Simmons

Hard work pays off for Greg Bryant - ESPN

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Greg Bryant had never worked so hard.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound junior running back from Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage, fresh off rushing for 243 yards and three touchdowns, was almost too tired to talk about his contributions in a 30-3 victory over Gainesville (Fla.) Madison County in the Class 3A state championship game.

"I'm feeling pretty winded right now," Bryant said. "The coaches told me they would need me, but I wasn't expecting 39 carries."

The number of carries was a career high for Bryant. He normally gets 12 to 15 carries a game, but his workload has increased in the playoffs and he has been there to answer the call.

Greg Bryant commits to Notre Dame

Greg Bryant (Delray Beach, Fla./American Heritage), the No. 2 running back in the ESPN 150, committed to Notre Dame at the end of his official visit on campus Sunday, according to his father, Greg Bryant Sr.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Bryant chose the Irish over Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia and South Carolina. He becomes the 22nd verbal commitment in Notre Dame's recruiting class of 2013 and the eighth member of the ESPN 150.

Notre Dame's recruiting class currently is ranked fourth in the ESPN class rankings.

Bryant originally committed to Oklahoma earlier in the year but re-opened his recruitment over the summer.

Erstwhile (former) Irish RB Greg Bryant says he’s reopening recruitiment

It appears that Greg Bryant has all but closed the door on a return to South Bend next year. Or any year after that, for that matter.

Earlier this month, and after he was suspended for the first four games, it was confirmed that Bryant had been declared academically ineligible and wouldn’t play at all in 2015. While head coach Brian Kelly stated Bryant would be , the running back’s father stated that, even as he would be returning to classes at the school, he wouldn’t be reporting for summer camp.

However, the school part won’t come to fruition as Bryant posted on Instagram that he participated in his first practice Thursday at ASA Miami, a junior college in Florida and is coached by a former Notre Dame staffer.

Additionally, Bryant stated that he has decided to reopen his recruitment. While that doesn’t necessarily preclude a return to the Irish, it appears he will be looking in other directions to restart his FBS career in 2016.

Below is his complete social media missive.

Had my first practice with my new team ASA Miami today and it went great! They gave me a opportunity to wear #1 this season! I’ll be keeping everyone updated with highlights and games. Opening up my recruitment so my next move will be my best move. Kinda feel like HIGHSCHOOL again getting offers and everything hahah. Highlights coming soon.

If he returns to the FBS level next year, Bryant would have two years of eligibility remaining.

UPDATE:
UAB RB Greg Bryant shot, in critical condition after incident in Florida

West Palm Beach police told AL.com on Saturday evening that Bryant remained alive as of 4 p.m. ET. The UAB program released a statement announcing Bryant’s death on Saturday afternoon, which the school later confirmed was premature to Lauren Walsh of ABC 33/40 in Birmingham.

“We understand that our running back, Greg Bryant is still fighting for his life in a Florida hospital following injuries he sustained in a shooting earlier today,” head coach Bill Clark said. “The condolences we expressed earlier today were based on information a family member at the hospital provided and gave us permission to release. We remain steadfast as a Blazer family in our prayers and support for Greg and his family at this difficult time.”
