I've wondered the same thing, my only guess is to indicate that is the helmet with the headset in it but again, that's only a wild guess.

hey Bucknutty, where's the Animal gif?

that thing got me watching The Muppet Show on youtube for hours one day when i had a hangover...

but umm... yeah. the green dot signals that the helmet is wired.

as far as the whole Bill Belichick stealing signals thing goes, why don't they just wire the MLB or whoever on D? then they wouldn't have to worry about it...

Debate over whether a MLB or S needs the headset... or so the NFL talking heads said.

I thought maybe they did it to make the QB easier to spot by the refs as there are special rules on roughing the QB... The wired helmat makes more sense. I now expect to hear about a run on sticky green dots at Staples.

Is this the green dot?

So, just look at the X in the middle, and you should see a green dot being replaced by the disappearing purple dots.

Its called an: negative retinal afterimage
