Grad gift ideas for non-relatives.

Wife and I are debating appropriate cash value of graduation present for a non-relative.

What precedent do we set? Will have one this year, two teens of our own that graduate next year (will give gifts for their closest friends whose families we know) and a few more the next couple years after that.

I still remember one gift I received when I graduated high school was a darn good set of tools. I mean a really good set with a tool box and everything.

I still have some of those tools today.

Now I'm feeling old.
