This is my favorite thing I've found on Google Earth. This is a picture at the Normandy beaches and those things that are in the water are what's left of Mulberry Harbor (after the D-Day invasions the Allies toed over these giant concrete structures to serve as a temporary harbor, and they are still out there today).
