This second half has been awful for the US. Uninspired and flatfooted. Might I add that playing a thru ball for Brian Ching is not a winning move.

Fuck that p.o.s. CONCACRAP ref. He's done 3 US games this tourney and has managed to be consistently shitty in all 3, culminating with his terrible call on the PK. Awful.

US is completely gassed and shocked. They are huffing and puffing and have no energy. It doesn't help that they are playing in Mexico City. Oh what? That's New York? An American city? Well fuck me. Gee whiz. It's gotta be about 80/20 in favor of Mexican fans. I understand the reasons, but that is disheartening for our players. This team has unexpectedly found their way to the finals of our regional cup and have to go play an away game in the US. Mexico is thriving off the stadium energy.
I really hope we beat those fucks in Azteca in a couple weeks. I want that win so bad. The Gold Cup didn't mean anything this year (unlike in 2007, which qualified the US for the 2009 Confederations Cup). Azteca. August 12. Fuck Mexico.

None of them will be.
Mexico has about 7-9 guys that will be on their roster for Azteca (not sure if they will be starters/bench players).
US has 1. Ching. And he may not even start if Bradley goes with a Davies/Altidore pairing up top. At most, 1-2 players get called in to the 18 for Azteca. 1 may start.
5-0 is bad. It is embarrassing. I hate Mexico. But...the world cup qualifier on August 12th is huge. Give me that win (even a tie would be remarkable) and this loss is forgotten. This is a tryout tournament for MLS players (mostly) to make an impact on the actually WC team. They got embarrased here in the final. It hurts, but whatever.
A win in Azteca, not only assures a spot in SA2010, but it puts Mexico in a dogfight for 4th place in CONCACAF (which would then have to play a home/home playoff with a CONMEBOL). Them not making the WC would be amazing. Fuck Mexico.
