Does anyone know if Mexico is also playing with their "B" squad in the Gold Cup or how it compares to what USA is fielding?
I wasn't able to watch USA's last game, was it on FSC or something? I was lucky enough to watch Mexico v Costa Rico on Univision however..yay

Not sure on the outcome - but I like the over on this one. A 2-1 match seems likely.

Mexico is using what is pretty much their B-team - a few guys who have been on a WC roster, a few guys based in Europe. The USA roster is more of a B/C-team IMO.

Not everybody gets into CONCACAF events.

But now we even have a rugby vBet. And for the last 3 years we've had vBets for the Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Competition. Now that's one I'm willing to acept grief over.

Yep. Mexico has the better side (as in, they more closely resemble their A team), but this USA team is playing very well together and they are skilled in their own right (for essentially being a group of MLS All-Stars). I think the Americans pull this game out regardless. We own Mexico on our home soil.

I said 2-0 earlier, but this is shaping up to be a classic matchup, imo. I could easily see a one goal game decided by a late (2nd half/OT) "super-sub" for the US.

The run of play has gone back and forth so far over the first half hour.

Jay Heaps has gone in the book for a mis-timed tackle.
Logan Pause has gone into the book apparently for firing a shot on goal after a offside whistle that he couldn't hear. Bullcrap.

Probably not deserved for the play itself, but the ensuing goal is deserved for the way Mexico has attacked and controlled possession in the second half.
