Fellow Buckeye fans,
I live in Maryland but was raised in Ohio. Life long Bucks fan. :osu:

I'm considering making a road trip to :(Michigan:( and going to the Bucks game Nov. 30, this year.

I would like to get a little advice if I could from you all.

Are the fans crappy?
I can take a good nature'd ribbing and expect that. I don't want to feel like I am going to have to fight my way out. I live on the east coast and can personally attest to the fact that wearing an opponents jersey(Bengals) to a Ravens game will get beer thrown at you, hate filled cursing in bathrooms etc. It's pretty crappy so I stopped going to the games.

Is there a place you can park an RV and maybe even a place where Buckeye Fans congregate?

Thanks in advance all. :oh:

I went in 2009, there had to be close to 40% tOSU fans that year and i must say, michigan people were pretty quiet.

My best college football memory was doing the O-H-I-O around michigan stadium.

I wouldn't be too worried about going if i were you.

I've never been there, but a typical complaint found on michigan boards is that their stadium is full of old people who don't make noise and get pissed when you do. I don't know if osustamm's experience in 2009 can be attributed to that, or the fact that they fucking suuuuuuuuuucked (even worse than usual, though not for lack of practice).

The only way I could definitively tell you to not go would be if you have a crippling fear of jangling keys.

I've gone up to The Game in AA twice ('05 and '09). Their fans are quite tame, but exceptionally arrogant, which sets up for some, uh, interesting conversations that may or may not be related to football. As per any fanbase, their douchebaggery is directly proportionate to how their season is going and if they are doing poorly, they love to pull the academic superiority card out of their asses. But, all things considered, they are nowhere near violent and most of them would fit in better at an AARP meeting than at a football game. I've also gone up to the UM vs Toledo game in 2008 and the UM vs. PSU game in 2009. If any is keeping track, UM is 0-4 in my trips up there... and yes, I'm planning on going up to The Game again this year.

That's good to hear.
Funny about the keys. That is random.
I live near Frederick Maryland and the have a single A baseball team called the Keys. They shake keys at the 7th inning, so I think I will survive the key shaking.

I so hope we do the O H I O throughout the stadium. That wouldn't be epic!!! I'll video it and post it here if we do.

I'm looking forward to the trip now.

Thanks

I live just outside of AA and went to the game in 2005. ( the Gonzo out of bounds controversy) We parked and tail gated at the golf course and had few problems in the morning, but as the alcohol started to be consumed the 20 something TSUN DB's got out of control. Inside the stadium after the game the alums we very gracious and congratulated us on our win as we sang Carmen Ohio and cheered with the team. As we left the stadium the same 20 something douche bags made their appearance again at the gates as we were leaving to go back to the golf course. One drunken scUM 20 something went up to an elderly buckeye fan and poked him in the chest and then knocked his buckeye hat off his head then he stumbled into me and the whole section of buckeye and scUM fans alike as we were exiting together. After a brief nose to nose and some harsh threats from me and my friends about what we just saw take place Buckeye and scUM fans alike turned on this punk, and I have never seen a little punk run away so quickly...it was truly comical. Long story short..the tail gate area's will be your biggest problems...people inside the stadium are the least of your concerns.

If you think Ravens fans are bad, you must not have dealt with Eagles fans.

Yup. Avoid Wisky & PSU. Michigan is just fine, though there might be some vulgar words or the infrequent idiot. It's quite tame overall.

Been to a couple "The Game"s up in AA, never had any trouble besides mostly good natured ribbing. Favorite experience had to be way back when I was still a teenager in "77". My Dad was dating a woman from AA who worked at scUM, and had good season tickets. We wound up sitting right in the middle of the faculty and employees. (this was the year that a gif is posted earlier of the Bucks tearing down the M Club banner.....Woody was also leading cheers in front of the OSU section in the south end zone ) Our only back up was 2 guys from Minny that were two rows behind us who taught us a really obscene version of "The Victors" .......wish I could still remember it! Unfortunately, The Bucks lost that day, but it was my first experience at a tOSU-scUM game, and we had a blast.
