Give. I like to see the expressions on peoples faces when they're suprised by a gift, or with a gift. What unnerves me about receiving gifts is when I get something from a friend or distant relative I wasn't expecting, then I feel bad about having left them off my Christmas list.

I had more friends/couples on my Christmas list this year than relatives, and I just know I'm going to have forgotten somebody. :(

Eat, drink and be merry since after all most likely Christ was born in the Spring anyway!
As to the non-raunchy "give/receive" question, while I enjoy watching my wife open gifts I give her, its even more fun to watch the kids get all excited as Christmas approaches. Unable to get to sleep on Christmas Eve, eager to run down stairs Christmas morning to the room where the tree and gifts are. And then watching them flip out as they see the mountain of gifts that await them. Its the cleanup of the wrapping paper afterward that is the pain in the ass!
