Giovanni Strassini: A Football Fantasy

Vince, you're a bad mother.

Serious question...is English his first language? I ask, because if it is, then he's completely full of shit imo. His whole manifesto is a rambling, incoherent, stack of bullshit on top of horseshit. Explaining yourself, even if you leave out some major or minor details, shouldn't require all that. He has yet to lay out anything concrete with any clarity, at least on here. It seems as if he is finally caught, and he's trying to weasel his way out of it by half explaining half-truths.

How fucking hard would it be to just say "look, some motherfucker stole my identity, and I went along with it because I enjoyed the perks that came along with people believing I was important"? It wouldn't be hard at all. Instead, we get a gatorubet wall of text with all kinds of filler, but no real truth.

Criminal or not, he's still a fucking fraud.

I keep trying to imagine myself in a hospital bed, and a Doc telling me "Hey, some obscure All-American from the mid-70's is here to lift your spirits! I know how much you like the Buckeyes, but this dude played for Oklahoma!"

I mean, who the fuck in NC besides Buckeye alumni or Ohio transplants would give any fucks? It just makes. no. sense.

Just to keep a running tally of memes from this nonsense...

1. Choose Positivity (His personal mantra from motivational facebook posts)
2. Gio the "Reeper" (Sent to a member of another forum in a private message)
3. "Bitch Up" (Same as #2)
4. Italian cuss words

This shit cray

While I could give the guy a break with the thought he was associated with the criminal (which I am still not sold on), the whole Wikipedia thing along with all the other online stuff still makes zero sense.

What you have stated is way better than anything his awful diatribes tried to convey, and even then he clearly did not have any concrete answers.

There is something I have learned in my many interactions with people like him (I have someone in my family that lives a massive lie). They will lie to cover up their lies, and when caught they will lie again and again and again. The amazing thing is, if you lie enough people actually start to buy into the lies, even after they have been exposed for lying, because it gets so convoluted people just give up and accept it.

If he was truly sorry he just would have simply stated he was sorry, and also simply stated he was not the John Strassini in the legal documents here. He would have accepted the sling and arrows and been on his way. Yet everything he has done says to me he is a chronic liar, and he is continuing to lie in order to justify his lies. His attitude is all too familiar to me, and I in no way believe most of the bull he continues to spew.

If English is his mother tongue, then I'll bet a fucking paycheck he is lying thru his fucking teeth. His whole explanation makes no sense. The only way any of it is true is if he don'ta speaka da englais so good. I don't know these wikilluminati from Adam, but it's strange that everything they're saying makes perfect sense while Strass' several posts under multiple handles read like a foriegners first crack at an essay in English.

Choose positivity.

Bitch up cause the reeper is coming.

I also have a couple questions.

1. Why continue this charade around a major site like espn.com?

2. If you always went by the name Giovanni, why is your hotmail jstrassini? Something does not sound right here- and when something doesn't sound right, it usually isn't right.

Well if you subscribe to the idea that John D & Gio are one and the same, then it's all an act. You can't trust anything the guy says or writes, no matter the manifestation, situation or pseudonym used.

Remember, John D. is a Professional Con. The act of doctoring official IRS forms, forging statements to secure loans is not done by a pure simpleton. John D. was able to fool legit business people out of money ... for a little while at least.

And the court cases detailed in the timeline posted by Dryden show a clear link between John D & Gio Strassini. Apparently this version of G.S. purports that there are multiple G. Strassinis in Charlotte NC - "john smith."

I mean the court cases are verified legal evidence of the links between John D. to Gio, no doubt. Why else would a Gio Strassini go to court over the son of "John D." Strassini. So yes, John D. and Gio are one and the same ... but this Gio says he's #3 out of 15. This Gio proclaims to be a patsy.

Whether John D. had legit photos of himself (as a fan) standing next to Hayes or Griffin may have fooled people into thinking he was a legit fit to the timeline (considering John D. is the relative age of Griffin), yet they may have been doctored. He still lived a lie by saying he was a player. The ring being oddly close yet oddly off in certain details, makes one wonder how handy he was with his hands.

His "poorly" crafted essay may just be another attempt at wild doctoring to try and deceive.

I mean John D. was trying to run a "building" company in the '90s. For all we know he has carpenter skillset or construction or whatever - woodworking or some kind-of engineering. So the idea that he potentially used this in various ways to forge docs and photos and/or everything else, kind-of stacks up in a way, to me.

A pathological liar will lie and lie and lie, over and over again. Being an absolute fake, acting like he couldn't speak a lick of English could very well be another of his personalities.

Beside being a chronic fraud he may have multiple personality disorder.

I find it rather interesting that in his earlier posts in this thread in response to allegations of fraud he took such issue with the definition and elements of fraud. I believe he even asked a few folks to look it up. The reason it is so funny, is that in U.S. v. Strassini, that was exactly the defense of John Daley STRASSINI, a/k/a John D. Strassini, d/b/a Elite Home Builders, d/b/a JDS Builders, Incorporated, d/b/a John Daly Strothers.

On December 7, 1998, Strassini appeared in court to enter his plea. The district court, pursuant to Fed.R.Crim.P. 11 (Rule 11), informed Strassini of the crimes to which he was pleading guilty by explaining the elements of bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. The district court did not, however, discuss the element of materiality in either the bank or wire fraud charge because, at the time of Strassini's plea hearing, this circuit had not included the element of materiality in bank and wire fraud.
On June 10, 1999, after Strassini's plea hearing but before his sentencing hearing, the Supreme Court decided Neder v. United States, 527 U.S. 1, 119 S.Ct. 1827, 144 L.Ed.2d 35 (1999). In Neder, the Court held that ?materiality of falsehood is an element of the federal mail fraud, wire fraud, and bank fraud statutes.?
On August 24, 1999, the district court held Strassini's sentencing hearing. Strassini again stipulated to the factual basis in the Presentence Report and the district court entered guilty verdicts on all four pleaded counts. Nothing was said regarding Neder or materiality from any party or the district court, and Strassini did not attempt to withdraw his plea. The district court sentenced Strassini to 72 months imprisonment on each count, to be served concurrently, and $212,383 in restitution to his victims. Strassini filed a timely notice of appeal to this court.
On appeal, Strassini challenges the validity of his guilty plea, arguing that the district court's omission of the element of materiality in his bank and wire fraud charges during the Rule 11 hearing makes his plea unknowing and involuntary, which, if true, would render the plea constitutionally invalid. Accordingly, Strassini argues that he should be permitted either to stand trial or plead anew.
Unfortunately, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals found Mr. Strassini's defense just as unbelievable as we are finding it, i.e. they did not choose positivity.

In conclusion, Strassini has presented no evidence to demonstrate that he would not have pleaded guilty had he known that the Government would have had to prove materiality in his bank and wire fraud charges. Based on this lack of evidence, and based on the staggering potential sentence that Strassini would have faced at trial, we conclude that Strassini has not shown that his substantial rights were violated by the exclusion of the element of materiality in the bank and wire fraud charges to which he pleaded guilty. Furthermore, because there is overwhelming and essentially uncontroverted evidence that Strassini submitted false, material information to obtain loans, we decline to recognize the error because the error did not seriously affect the fairness, integrity, or public reputation of the judicial proceeding. For the foregoing reasons, Strassini's challenge to the validity of his conviction is without merit, and we affirm.
See United States v. Strassini, 59 F. App'x 550, 555 (4th Cir. 2003).

Fear the "reeper" (obviously a nickname given to the 300 pound, well-endowed cell mate that Mr. Strassini spent the next 72 months bunking with).

In support of Dryden's (who continually fails to choose positivity no matter how frequently he is urged to do so :shake:)timeline and questions thereof, I also find it interesting that in the appellate brief filed by Strassini (John, not Giovanni...definitely not Giovanni...yeah, John....the guy with no association to Giovanni...completely different people), he tells the Court as follows:

Your Honor, in the middle of '95, 1995,1 came down to Charlotte to - with the intent and purpose to set up a construction company and build homes and sell them to make a living.
Once in Charlotte, he owned and operated Elite Home Builders and Improvements. The North Carolina Secretary of State has the following business entities registered within the state: Elite Home Builders, Inc., which was incorporated by a man named Johnny Dipiazza (this is apparently him: http://www.kw.com/kw/GetAgent.action?personId=295758). I don't think the guy pictured as realty agen Dipiazza is the same guy pictured in the Charlotte Buckeys photos, right? JDS, Builders, Inc. is also incorporated in NC (or at least it was until it was dissolved in July of 2011), with it registered agent listed as John Strassini of 3520 Providence Plantation Lane. That same address on Radaris brings up listings for R. Strassini. John D. Strassini and Rebecca Strassini are listed as residents (not sure whether former or current) of 3613 Providence Plantation Lane.

Back to the case law. Not to be deterred, in 2005, John Strassini filed another appeal alleging ineffective assistance of counsel. Obviously it was his attorney's fault that he committed fraud...

Strassini v. United States, 398 F. Supp. 2d 432 (W.D.N.C. 2005)

It appears that after being sentenced, John Strassini completed his term of imprisonment and commenced a term of three years' supervised release on August 17, 2004. On July 16, 2007, Strassini's term of supervised release was extended for a period of one year due to his failure to make the required monthly restitution payments. During his time in prison, Strassini filed various suits against the prison. Mr. Strassini also was involved in bankruptcy proceedings. Then, in 2009 he filed an action seeking relief from the final judgment in the fraud case, which required him to pay restitution. The Court disagreed with Mr. Strassini, holding:

The relief sought by the Petitioner pursuant to Rule 60(b) is unwarranted for the same reasons stated herein for the denial of the petition for writ of error coram nobis. The Petitioner has not offered any evidence to support his allegation that the order of restitution to Home Gold was unwarranted. Even if the Petitioner's unsupported allegations could be considered ?newly discovered evidence,? the Petitioner has failed to demonstrate that he could not have discovered such ?evidence? earlier with reasonable diligence. Accordingly, the Petitioner's request for relief under Rule 60(b) also must be denied.
Strassini v. United States, CRIM. 3:97CV54, 2009 WL 3698405 (W.D.N.C. Nov. 2, 2009)

But wait, there is more. In an appeal filed with the Ninth District Court of Appeals by Giovanni Strassini, Mr. Strassini (again, definitely not John Strassini.....obviously they aren't the same people....that just isn't plausible), he objected to a Magistrate's ruling regarding child support and related matters, asserting that the decision did not reflect the agreement between Mr. Strassini and his now deceased ex-wife, Rebecca Strassini. The Court's opinion reads as follows:

This action began in November 2000, when Rebecca Strassini, now deceased, filed a complaint seeking a divorce from Mr. Strassini. The two were married in 1995 and had one child born of the marriage, P.S., in 1996. Prior to the divorce, Ms. Strassini and Mr. Strassini lived in North Carolina; however, Ms. Strassini moved to Ohio to live with her family in February 2000, because Mr. and Ms. Strassini lost all of their property in bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings. The record evidences that Mr. Strassini had a fairly lengthy criminal history, and in fact, at the time the divorce decree was entered in 2001, he was serving a prison sentence in a federal prison in North Carolina. In the divorce decree, the court designated Ms. Strassini as the residential parent and legal custodian of P.S.

Ms. Strassini died unexpectedly in May 2009.
Strassini v. Strassini, 2012-Ohio-5269 (Ohio Ct. App. Nov. 14, 2012).

The Ohio Court's synopsis of the facts for this case involving Giovanni Strassini falls directly in line with the bankruptcy and criminal cases involving John Strassini in NC.

Nothing suspicious here...move on.

Another very popular topic was that of Strassini's interaction with Wiki and its associates. Admittedly, I had not done any research on that topic, so most of the specifics were lost on me. What he did make clear is that it was Wikipedia's continued unsolicited addition of his name to their articles that spurred this issue to scrutiny.

Fortunately we have an expert in the field.

Pardon my French, but that is bull[Mark May].

Yes, you tried to remove your name from Wikipedia. But only from your talk page, while refering to "Giovanni Strassini" as "my name".

The funny thing about the Wikipedia software, tho, that is registers your edits. So, one can easily see that on that same day, someone with exactly your IP address added your name all over Wikipedia.

So, if that wasn't you, it must've been someone using your internet connection, at the same time as you were using it. Not that I believe there is one, but I'd like to hear your explaination for that.

So, um, yeah- about that one...

(I'm sure most of the other points of contention are total BS as well, but that one in particular is easy to rebuke.)

And then there is this exchange, where he lies stating that Ohio State has records of him, which has already been established through Ohio State as a lie:

Basically, this Giovanni is lying through his keyboard.

He is a fucking liar.
