Ginn & Breaston worry one Big-10 defensive coordinator

i think breaston is the same kind of athlete that ginn is. i think avant is the better reciever IMO kinda like holmes is better for us but i think ginn and breaston share the same tendencies. i just think ginn is on such a ridiculous level from any other player to ever play that they cant be compared together.

avants got good hands but hes not a burner, breaston hasnt showed me anything yet, although im not saying he wont be a great wide reciever, honestly i dont think he'll be that great of a wide reciever, you cant downplay the edwards factor being gone.

Wow, I can't believe how many people are just downright bashing Breaston. Not all, the good majority of you are giving him his due credit and respect. But some are just trashing this kid and making it sound like he's chopped liver. I happen to think that he's a hell of a player. I seem to remember him scoring 8 touchdowns his freshman season on around 80-90 touches. Sound kind of familiar to any Buckeye fans? Last season Breaston was hurt pretty much the entire year with a stress facture in his foot, hammy pulls, and two broken fingers. Not trying to make excuses for him, because to be honest he actually had a pretty decent season despite all the injuries. Maybe some of you bashing him missed the Rose Bowl, where he was finally healthy and exploded for 315 total yards. I guess if Ginn doesn't get at least 315 total yards against Texas than he must not be any good like Breaston. :roll2:

Now I know Ohio State fans hate Michigan, but don't you guys at least give credit where credit is due? Breaston is one damn good football player. So is Jason Avant. How anybody could knock Avant is beyond me. He's a solid possesion receiver, runs routes with deadly precision, and has the surest hands on Michigan's entire team. All he does is go over the middle and get 1st downs when you need them. Last season, of his 32 catches, 22 went for 1st downs. Has anybody also stopped to think that maybe, just maybe with true freshman at QB and RB that the Michigan offensive coaching staff dumbed down the playbook as much as possible and that they tried to get the ball to their best player (Braylon) as often as possible?

As for the guy who mentioned Tabb, yes he's one of the fastest players on the team but speed means squat at WR. Tabb is likely going to be the 5th WR. Adrian Arrington is really coming on in camp and so is Mario Manningham. I expect those guys to be the #3 and #4 WR's, and Tabb to be burried on the depth chart. Sure he's real fast, but that doesn't mean anything in Michigan's offense if you can't run good routes or block.

No. What sounds familiar to Buckeye fans is Ginn getting 6 touchdowns on nearly half the touches that Breaston got in his freshman year.

There's a good possibility that Texas won't be scoring enough for Ginn to get 221 kick return yards. Nice stat though.

Jason Avant has had precisely ONE good game.

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=3 width=626 border=0><TBODY><TR align=right bgColor=#ffffff><TD align=left>10/4/03 @Iowa</TD><TD align=left>Loss 30-27 </TD><TD>7</TD><TD>175</TD><TD>25.0</TD><TD>0</TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
(that's Rec. Yds. avg and TD)

(I thought his good game was against Northwestern, turns out I was wrong, it was Iowa.)

If he's as polished as you claim Terry Malone must be a moron.

Actually, come to think of it, maybe you are right.

Breaston ain't shit. His 8TDs on "80-90" touches pales to Ginn's 8 TDs on about 50 touches and playing full-time only about half the season. Seems to me that Ginn tore Michigan a new ass while Breaston did jack shit against us.

And even if they do score, would YOU kick it to Ginn? I think I'd kick it out of bounds and give the Bucks the ball at the 35.

It's kind of funny to compare Breaston and Ginn's stats'. Ginn made big plays in big games, I'd be interested to see what Breaston did against good competition. I don't recall his name being mentioned against OSU much...... I'd do the research to see who his TD's came against, but quite frankly I don't really give a shit........

Boy, could you play into our hands any better? Yes, we believe that to a large degree, which is exactly why we will wait and see if Henne can get it done without Mr. Automatic Except Versus Youboty.

Breaston is a dangerous player, but he did nothing against us last year. Why would we respect him? You probably didn't respect Santonio Holmes until he owned your DBs in The Game in 03.

Nobody said Avant and Breaston sucked. We said that Avant could not replace Braylon, and that Breaston hasn't gotten it done yet against OSU.

You wanna brag about Breaston's KR yardage? How many times did he run in a straight line to half field? It was a good performance, but you should check Texas' stats and realize that horrible teams like Rice have had success running back kicks against the horns. Just like anybody can have their QB scramble successfully against your defense.

Breaston is still a bad ass and a good player. This season will tell you what you need to know. It is put up or shut up time for him if he is to be the AA that some people think he will be. This is why they play the game on the field.
