Georgia 30, Georgia Tech 24 (final)

Happy to see you put all of those rushing yards on them Woof. Shaking my head at the three long passes in OT though.

I am glad I was wrong. Way to represent. Two middle of the road SEC squads took out both of the ACC Division winners. I wonder if they get 30K to watch the conference championship game in Tampa.

The Nolies are stinging from the "This is Varsity versus Jr. Varsity" comment from the talking heads. A great day for a threeway ACC beatdown. :banger:

I believe the 3 long passes were with 1:30+ left in regulation. I can only assume they were hoping for a PI call, but UGA's secondary made some very good plays. Tech was moving the ball decently, but started heaving it from midfield. The missed FG earlier in the game obviously hurt them in the end, while Walsh's miss on his last attempt did not hurt the Dogs.

Honestly, I was shocked the UGA was able to rip such large chunks of yards so frequently and with little to no resistance. Looking objectively before the game, Tech was just playing better and was the better team. Just not Saturday.

Yep. I was thinking about the Corndog Pig OT, where the piggies gave up running for some damn reason, just like the gnats.

Regardless, rather than continue with their bread and butter offense, they threw long three times, forsaking a more balanced attack.

That makes three of us who were confused!

Pitch right and Pitch left were getting 5-7 yards a carry for GT as we were forced to commit the safety to stopping the dive. Plus - they almost always got out of bounds to stop the clock AND they had a timeout left.

I don't know anything about their offense - but I was surprised that they wouldn't try to throw an intermediate pass (10-20 yards) and then call a time out.

Sports talk radio in Atlanta was glorious this morning.

"Blah blah, Nesbit was injured because UGA was twisting his ankle!"

Were they going to line Nesbit up at Linebacker?
Would he have stopped us from running for 320+ yards?

The ACC is terrible - it's the worst conference of all the BCS conferences.

Tech loses out. The drop the next game to Clemson and lost to Big East #2 (probably Pitt) in the Gator Bowl.

Wow (no offense here Woof) but the "best" of the ACC got bitchslapped by 2 middling SEC teams looking for win #7. YIKES. Throw in UNC's glorious showing against NC State, and, well, the ACC is Another Crappy Conference it appears. Is parity good if they all suck?

BLion - you and I are not in disagreement.

Naturally the spin coming from Tech/Clemson contingent is: "Well-they were looking ahead to next week!" and "What game are you playing in this weekend?"

BB73 - can we do an vbet regarding attendence at the ACC title game in Tampa? Less than 35k seems to be the going number...

Of course, because you know, teams always stop thinking about rivalry games the second they could win a conference title. I mean, look at Ohio State, we had the Rose Bowl locked up, so naturally we didn't care...oh wait. :shake:
