Georgia 14, South Carolina 7 (final)

Greetings.
I'm new to the boards but figured I'd add my $.02 since I think I'm the only Dawg supporter on these boards.

The rivalry is classic gafe fest. I would never pretend to know alot about the Buckeyes rivals - but the Dawgs almost always get Carolina's best effort of the year - since we're almost always the first highly ranked team they play.

That said - the drop in the polls is expected and deserved. With UT, Bama, Florida, and LSU on the schedule, Georgia has plenty of time to polish their resume.

Absolutely. That was the talk all week after UGA was only a 7.5 favorite over a USC team that just got manhandled physically by Vandy.

Welcome to BP.

Don't overlook Arizona State this weekend

Indeed.
Funny story about ASU. The school only allows tailgating in the parking lots 2 hours prior to gametime. Apparently it's policed with "sincere enthusiasim" by capus and local police.

ASU used to have quite a problem with individuals having too much to drink and suffering extreme heat exhaustion in the 100+ degree weather on blacktop parking lots.

As such - the tailgating scene is heavy on local dive bars.

I'm sure starBUCKS & Sushi could tell us a few stories :p

Welcome to the boards. What's the area Georgia needs to shore up the most moving forward?

Thanks!

I'd like to see UGA improve in three areas.

1. Stafford can take three steps and chuck it 60 yards on the fly. But he's falls in love with his arm too much. I'd like to see him hit slot WR's for 8-12 yard gains a little more than taking his progression immediately downfield.

2. Get healthy! We have 3 individuals (a FB, a LB, and a DL) all expected back between weeks 4-6.

3. Pass Rush from the front 4. If you watched the Hawaii game last year (sorry to put you to sleep) but hardly blitzed at all. We need to generate a similar push from the current defensive line...all who have experience, but only two as starters.

Thanks for the insight, I haven't been able to watch the Dawgs much this season. The SEC fans here are few and far between, but we've found some good ones, like Gatorubet. Of course, given your schools' feelings for one another, you may not enjoy his commentary quite as much

It will be interesting to watch your front 4 progress (we feel your struggles there, maybe moreso). ASU's protection was horrendous last year, so this game might not be the best measuring stick.

That's partially true. There are certain parking lots that only allow tailgating 3.5 hours before game time but other parking lots that let you in whenever and you can do whatever. It is quite frustrating for ASU fans that do want to tailgate all day and do it responsibly. No hard liquor and no drinking games allowed. Pretty pathetic but lots of college kids would get really drunk when it is 110 outside on black asphalt and there are just too many idiots who ruin it for everyone else. Local bars are a big part of the pre-game experience because they are air-conditioned and no clean up. It's only going to be about 98 degrees this Saturday so it shouldn't be too bad for everyone (at least 98 is cool for us Arizonans).

Watched this game and was completey unimpressed. South Carolina's offense sucks. But, SC's defense held their own against Georgia and this was very close. #2? Your kidding.

I'm sure your feelings are being echoed throughout most of the country.

Give us the chance to go to Baton Rouge, Jacksonville, Tempe, and Auburn before you make up your mind.

The Richt trademark is that his teams get better as the season progresses.

ASU's protection was horrible last year but it has gotten better this year. Carpenter isn't holding on to the ball near as long and the wide receivers are better at shortening routes when the blitz is on so Rudy can release the ball before he gets sacked. ASU's loss this weekend was extremely embarrassing and I think they will come out fired up this weekend against Georgia. ASU will finally have our #1 running back playing this weekend and we will get our best linebacker back. I think ASU has a chance to win this game but we will see where their heads are at after losing to UNLV.

Well Taos, that is called a classy response from a visiting fan. You can stop trying to bait him now.
