The University Athletic Association released a statement Tuesday afternoon, saying: "We were made aware of the investigation in late November and immediately suspended Steve Babik from his work responsibilities. Now that he has been charged, his employment has been terminated. We are deeply disturbed by the charges."

I have to think that people who are so sick as to be pedophiles - or enjoy sexual images of children and manage to refrain from acting on it - are born hard wired that way, or have had something like abuse themselves to set it up. I mean, you just don't sit at the computer one day and decide that looking at naked kids is better than the hottie playmates or Girld Gone Wild Co-Eds. Sad. But watching kiddie porn is the same as donating money to people to sexually abuse kids.

JEFFERSON, Ohio ? The Cuyahoga County Coroner?s Office is expected to make a preliminary ruling today in the apparent suicide of a former Medina County assistant public defender.

An investigator with the Ashtabula County Coroner?s Office said Sean O?Toole, who was awaiting sentencing on child pornography charges, was found by a corrections officer hanging by a sheet in his Ashtabula County Jail cell Thursday morning. The 42-year-old Lakewood resident was pronounced dead at 5:35 a.m.

can't get to some of the links from work. is this some dip[censored] who used a pier to pier site to download porn and didn't turn off the "sharing" feature and happened to dl something with a 17 yr old in it or is this guy a legit scumbag? the single count of possession and distribution strikes me as a bit odd. not in law enforcement or a lawyer type. but i would expect a legit scumbag to have a collection which would result in multiple charges. or am i off base here?
