LadyB and I took the weekend and went there. The Smoky Mountains was really nice. We had a great time, but it's a money pit there. A major tourist attraction. The next time we ever go, which we will bring plenty of $$. There is so much to do.

Any BP member ever been there and what did ya all think?

I went there when I was about 12.. I remember that we did a lot of hiking and fishing. Beautiful place..

Wherever we stayed had the best breakfast ever.

very soothing to the soul the morning fresh air and the song by Alabama-Smoky Mountain Rain I never really got it until I was there. There is so much to do with the little time we spent there:sad:

The drive sucked I was so glad to see the Buckeye State on the way back:banger:

7 hours down and 5 1/2 back:biggrin: kept up with traffic.

My Dad's family is from the Elizabethton/Roan Mountain areas so I know exactly what you are talking about....

I have been there about 3 times in the last 5 years. My family goes there with a bunch of friends and we stay in a cabin or chalet. It is great staying up in the mountains, it is quiet and has a great view. Also, sometimes we get to witness the occasional bear trying to get into the trash. But, Gatlinburg is a great play to go on vacation. Like already mentioned, so little time with a lot to do.
