I thought, hey, why is he wearing michigan colors? But I didn't use a fashion choice likely picked by the studio to determine who he hates. Biased against OSU? please. I'm not sure if Danielson has said a bad thing about OSU in a few years. When we were just plain awful in special teams, he was giving us the benefit of the doubt saying it was very unusual. He didn't have to say that, given our butterfingers on returns during the MSU game.

he wore an unsightly wardrobe. Blue and yellow is a pretty common dress uniform. Had he worn a red tie with a red shirt (also common), would it have proven he loved OSU?

When you first started wacthing the game and you saw what he was wearing, whatd you think?
I thought, cool, Musberger and Danielson are doing this game, they're a good pair.

That sucks that Danielson is leaving ABC. I would have much rather seen him go to Fox so that there would be something redeeming in their bowl coverage, obviously Gary is far too knowledgeable regarding college football to work there, though.

What is unique about this is that no one ever really leaves ABC -- these guys are tied to the ABC "family" until they're retired or forced out, and even then most guys get reassigned, such as Fouts going from MNF to CFB. I'm going to guess Danielson was given an opportunity to leave on good terms and seek the A spot at another network or accept being demoted so that Dick Vermeil can take back his spot alongside Brent.

Here's a typical AP write-up of the story:

Danielson joins CBS Sports

Gary Danielson, a 13-year NFL veteran and former Purdue University quarterback, joins CBS Sports as lead analyst for the network's coverage of college football, said Tony Petitti, executive vice president and executive producer of CBS Sports.

Danielson will be paired with Verne Lundquist, who has served as lead play-by-play announcer since 2000.

"Gary Danielson is recognized as the premier analyst in college football," Petitti said. "He is perceptive, incisive and will bring a new level of analysis to our CBS Sports college football package."

Danielson was an analyst for ABC Sports for the past nine years (1997-2005).

i guess its just me then...my bust. I thought it was bad taste, wheter he dressed himself, abc, or his mom.
Im not knocking his ability to call games, danielson is one of the best. However, whereing blue and yellow while calling the ohio state michigan game... idk maybe it is just me.

there was no better commentator in football, for my money. I was still holding out hope (delusional, I know) that they would pair danielson and nessler (what a combination that would be).

Maybe spielman will join musberger for The Game next year :p

Danielson and Nessler would have been the perfect duo for major college football games. Losing Danielson is big for ABC. None of their regional analysts seem to be guys who are rising. Not being biased, I think Spielman does a good job and hopefully he'll get a shot at a bigger stage. I enjoyed Vermiel's announcing in the 90's, but haven't heard what he's planning to do. Let's all just hope that they don't plan to bring Desmond Howard anywhere near the microphone soon.

CBS announcer goes to ER after Tebowner lasts for more than four hours

Apparently Danielson had to go to the hospital after the SEC championship game.....

as an FYI, ESPN is reporting Danielson will be kept in the hospital through the night. They're being very precautious in the event Tebow wins the Heisman.

They're hopeful outpatient therapy will be enough in the event Tebow wins b/c that is a lot of Tebowner he'd be walking around with.
