Game thread: USC 66, UCLA 19 (Final)

A reflection of L.A: "if ya got it, flaunt it."

Pouring it on will come back to Pete...always does. Let em have their fun..it's a great team. As for football class, coaching class....???? Pete laughing when score went up past 52?

Game might show just how weak of a schedule ucla played this year to get into top 10 and only one loss. But, give sc props...they are solid against their competition this year. Playing Texas will be another experience, imo.

In all honestly, I just think Texas and USC are just "flexing their muscles" today, trying to scare the other team. No excuse though. Throwing deep when you're up 40+ points is just plain IGNORANT. Atleast Texas' points in the 2nd half came on the ground.

I don't see the somersault as any different than hurdling a would be tackler... if you're Larry Csonka.. you hammer a tackler at the goal .. if you're Bush, you dazzle
I missed the dive into the end zone, but the "somersaults" are usually not necessary when you are in front of all of the defenders

Petey running up the score isn't exactly surprising. Lendale white was in there at the end of the game to pick up a record. Mack brown's team ran it almost exclusively, and couldn't be stopped. Vastly different, as most are pointing out.

Maybe it bothers him that his greatest offense ever can't match the offensive production of Texas, who had to actually face a good defense this year.

Going for it on 4th and 10 on the 32 was absolutely classless. Keeping Lendale in to get a record is one thing, running up the score like that is poor sportsmanship at its finest.

Wow...Pete Carroll is a major league jackass. Going for it on 4th down when you're up by 46 is just plain wrong. Punt it or just take a knee or something, you don;t need to run the score up on anybody like that, and if you are going to do that, at least take out your starters before you do it. If Leinart or Bush wouldve gotten hurt when they were still in the game up by 46, I wouldn't have felt bad for USC at all, probably would have laughed

Not that there was any doubt about Reggie Bush declaring for the draft this year, but they just interviewed both of his parents. Both his Mom and Dad clearly indicated that Reggie is going to go Pro, and that they're fine with that.

Careful contacting those agents, Reggie. Don't win the Heisman and then get ineligible for the Rose Bowl.

But you loved how Woody said, "Because I couldn't go for three" when we played our biggest rival.

C'mon guys, if we could beat Michigan like this, we all would be in 7th heaven.

The bad karma from that 50-14 blowout burned us badly the very next year against scUM.

A couple of thoughts

Did ABC ever mention that USC-UCLA and Col-Texas were the two most dismal laughers ever? My God! Two prideless teams give up over 130 points in what's supposed to be big games!

Boy would I love to see RBush against the Silver Bullets. I think he'd do about 90 yards, but it's hard to tell with the flaccid UCLA D as the measuring stick.

GO BUCKS!

How convenient there is no mention of Vince Young throwing the ball up by 48 on Baylor in the 4th quarter.
