Va. Tech was very fortunate on 2 fumble recoveries, both by Jeff King.
On their scoring drive, early on they got a first down after FSU had 12 guys on the field for what would have been a 3rd-down stop. A few plays later they fumbled when FSU got a good hit on the runner, and the ball is at the feet of a DL. He tries to falls on it, and a cast on his arm messes him up from getting the ball, somehow recovered by TE King in a pile of FSU bodies.
Then their FG try hits the post and squirts through. An extrememly lucky 3 points.
Later Va. Tech fumbled again, and the TE was trailing the running back around the end for some reason, in perfect position to fall on another loose ball forced by FSU in VaTech territory.
FSU is in decent shape as long as they don't get a kick blocked. Yeah, I said that to tempt fate.
